Darren Wilson, the Ferguson, Missouri, police officer who killed unarmed teen Michael Brown in August, setting off months of protests, will likely never be a law enforcement officer again, his lawyer said in an interview with NBC station KSDK.
"Realistically speaking, Darren will never be a police officer again, and he understands that," attorney Jim Towey said. "Going forward it will be school, and trying to carve out a new niche, new career, for he and his family."
There were violent protests this week in the St. Louis suburb after a grand jury declined to indict Wilson in Brown's death on Aug. 9. Twelve buildings and a police car were torched, police officers were pelted with bottles and rocks, and tear gas was used against crowds in protests after the grand jury's decision Monday. Other protests also erupted across the country....

This story is a reminder how a person’s life can change in a split second. Darren perobably got up for work that day and coould never have imagined just how the direction of his whole life would change before the day was over.
He went from being some obscure cop in Ferguson to having his name known all over the place. He spent several months hiding to stay alive. He was reviled by people who didn’t even know him that wished him harm, or to be imprisoned for the rest of his life.
He waited to see what his fate would be. I am sure he was relieved as hell on Monday and thinking about where he will go and what he will do from that moment.
I hope he gets far away from that place and can find a place where he can rebuild his life.

Actually a good and brave man like Officer Darren Wilson is most desperately needed in areas with a high proportion of blacks. Let's face facts. The black crime rate is extremely high as shown by the ratio of the percentage of the population compared to the number of crimes. It's clear that Office Wilson is fearless when it comes to taking out the trash, regardless of color. He'd be bored in a small town that's largely white and that would be a waste of his talents. Men who are unafraid like Wilson are needed, now more than ever, in places like East St. Louis, Camden, Detroit and other areas that need cleaning.
Disparity in size and power is an important element in use of deadly force especially if the perpetrator is in the process of using that size and strength to disarm you.
That’s what a lot of the DUmmies think. That he was hired by Fox News to play to stupid liberal.
Through no fault of his own, and while following proper procedure, this man has effectively been rendered disabled and unable to perform his duties.
Therefore, he should be paid off.... he should receive the amount of money that he would have earned if able to serve until eligible for retirement. And he should draw that retirement as well.
To do less would be to spit upon the men and women who serve and protect us all.
These are my true feelings and nothing could change my mind... they should do the honorable thing in this matter.

And I already have some interesting thoughts.
His story would make a hell of a book and a movie.
This event had more plots, sub plots, con men, corrupt politicians, inept bureaucrats, etc.,
It might make a 4 hour movie to cover all of the scoundrels involved.
He might even get a job on TV similar to what Mike Furman has.
I suspect he can do better than he could as a cop.
He might even figure out a way to use his fame as a way to change this idea that the mob can be allowed to rule.
In other words, just as bummer has finally brought the public out of their trance to the point that they are beginning to see what an evil man he is and to the point that they are going to do something about it one way or another, the events of Furgason may be a turning point in how we handle mob behavior.
We are a peaceful easy going country, but it is a mistake to push us too far.

Michael Brown was not "unarmed" he had his hand on the officer's service revolver and his finger in the trigger guard. That makes him "armed" during the confrontation.
Than what? Is it idiocy to commit the act of self-preservation? I thought that was one of the basic unalienable rights. Unless that has changed?
