Darren Wilson, the Ferguson, Missouri, police officer who killed unarmed teen Michael Brown in August, setting off months of protests, will likely never be a law enforcement officer again, his lawyer said in an interview with NBC station KSDK.

"Realistically speaking, Darren will never be a police officer again, and he understands that," attorney Jim Towey said. "Going forward it will be school, and trying to carve out a new niche, new career, for he and his family."

There were violent protests this week in the St. Louis suburb after a grand jury declined to indict Wilson in Brown's death on Aug. 9. Twelve buildings and a police car were torched, police officers were pelted with bottles and rocks, and tear gas was used against crowds in protests after the grand jury's decision Monday. Other protests also erupted across the country....

He could apply for police work in my town. There’s hardly any blacks here.

He’ll always have to look over his shoulder for radical Democrats trying to kill him, his wife and any children they might have. He needs to go where Democrats are a small minority.

That is disgusting.

It infers that any cop who shoots in self defense or in defense of others a high on drugs gang banger throws away his career.

Disgusting.

All over a real punk, member of the Bloods, step son of a Blood, son of a woman charged with beating up her own family ....and I believe also charged with theft.

Trash.

It is a disgrace, a blot on every single one of us that we allow this to happen.

I am beginning to think that “Unarmed” is Michael Brown” first name.

I wasn’t exactly surprised.

A lot of people hate him and are out for his blood and he couldn’t continue functioning as a police officer under such circumstances.

Ferguson has lost a good man and a decent human being. But they don’t care about that in the city.

He seems to be. Zimmerman seems to be a male airhead.

I’d like to see how you’d handle even a week in George Zimmerman’s shoes.

So it’s Mission Accomplished.

A white cop will never be able to do anything to a Black Thug ever again, the risk is too great.

Great idea. He could run for congress.

Officer Wilson deserves some sort of large settlement from the local or state government for the destruction of his reputation and career.

Their initial weakness and appeasement of the mob encouraged the false narrative against Officer Wilson to build and gain momentum.

Now their failure to take decisive action against the liars and perjurers emboldens the mob and makes it impossible for Wilson to return to his job.

He did his job. The politicians and bureaucrats did not do theirs.

They owe him something for abetting the mob and destroying his career and for endangering his life through their failure to act decisively on his behalf.

This is simply a legal statement that forces the city to compensate him with new training/education and a new job. Perhaps this is what he wanted anyway.

Its not worth it.

When black racists hate you because of your skin color, its time to look for a different line of work.

That was not a serious suggestion, but seemed appropriate for the previous post.
