Sorry Jonah, you totally missed the mark. This is a very simple story.

6’3” 290lb teenager, with marijuana in his system and fresh off of a convenience story strong arm robbery, attacks a policeman who dared to confront him about walking in the middle of the road.

teenager tries to take the officer’s gun.

Officer responded with deadly force.

Dead man’s friends lie about event and black community takes opportunity to riot.

End of story.

What Blacks are afraid of, at least the ones that expect to get everything they need from government largesse (i.e. taxpayer money) is that they are soon no longer going to be "America's Most Favorite Minority".

Latinos have now, and Asians in the not too distant future will, surpass Blacks in numbers. And when you're expecting everything from government, numbers are important.

The next few riots will most likely be the last bang before the whimper where the causes that liberal Blacks argue for will be as successful as those fought for by Native Americans. If they called themselves a tribe, maybe we can let them run a casino in Detroit.

I think the premise of the article is bogus.

I think that the comments by Milwaukee Police Chief Edward Flynn are probably close to the mark for most of the residents of poor areas.

Police Chief Explodes on Protesters

Forget the headline, he didn't explode, he suffered a moment of truth while, obvious to me, he was shaken by the dead of a five year old.

My experience is limited to my experience but that is poor people pretty much want the same as anyone else; to be safe and for their kids to grow up. And many are working hard to get ahead. I give you those that got their businesses destroyed by the professionally petulant.

Sadly the media is going to focus on the pukes that are professionals at this. It's what they do.

The professionals agenda isn't justice, it's communism. Or at least the destruction of capitalism.

I don't know what to do about this but the MSM is focused on the pros either because they agree with them, are stupid dupes or it's good for ratings. Or all of the above.

And as long as that focus exists we'll get more of the same.

they are “frustrated” because the cities where they live and their schools both of which are run by liberal democrats have completely failed them.

But instead of blaming those responsible (liberal democrats) they fall for the ole shuck and jive of the race hustlers like Al Sharpton and blame “whitey” (aka Tea Party Republicans)

The FACT is they have only themselves to blame to continue to vote for the party of slavery who is keeping them down with its slave wages (aka welfare)

Race baiters and liberals love the simplicity of black and white because they take pleasure in twisting the truth. If it really a racist white cop killing an innocent man, we would here nothing of it.

Conservatives only enable this crap by suggesting there may be another side of a story like this or calling it complicated.

[[Officer Wilson made a legitimate request of Brown. Brown, in turn, saw no legitimacy in it and behaved recklessly.]]

Nope- Brown acted CRIMINALLY- ANY time someone puts even a finger on a police officer, they are committing a crime- breaking the law- and the officer has every right to defend himself-

This whole stinking situation can be summed up as “Either do what the police tell you, and comply with their orders, OR face the consequences- your choice”

It is NEVER ok assault an officer- NEVER- what the hell don’t these thugs and the black community who are screaming about racism understand about that very basic concept?

This whole damn incident could have been avoided IF the thug had just said “OK officer, I’ll get out of the road and stop impeding traffic” But nope, He decided he was black, large, and entitled to act however he wished, and no whitey copper was going to tell him he can’t break the law- and he paid the ultimate unfortunate price for his arrogant entitlement attitude- Thankfully cooler heads with more justice-oriented common sense understood this kid was a thug and unfortunately got what he deserved because of his CRIMINAL actions

It’s not complicated, a member of the Bloods attacked a police officer and got shot dead.

What does it say about an individual who, chafing at a simple lawful order given by a duly-constituted authority, puts himself in a position where he will either go immediately to jail, consequently to serve a lengthy prison sentence, go to prison for the rest of his life and/or be executed by the state, or be killed on the spot, with no alternatives to those three things? There was no way he could win, and the fact that he acted as he did is indicative of a sickness in his culture that breeds animals with no ability to reason, zero impulse control, and zero emotional maturity.

Saints tight end Ben Watson summed it up simply, succinctly and spot on “because ultimately the problem is not a SKIN problem, it is a SIN problem.”

That is the bottom line- simple- what don’t the liberals understand about this? Brown sinned, got reported for it, a policeman doing his duty spotted him, did his job, and brown CONTINUED TO SIN by disrespecting authority and criminally assaulting an officer doing his duty- and brown found out the hard way that sin has very serious consequences-

Sure his parents are suffering, but that is NOT the fault of the police officer, that is the fault of a punk son who decided he was above the law and who loved sin more than righteousness

I’m actually kind of surprised that Jonah Goldberg feels the way he does about the issue- He’s a smart witty person who should be able to see the simplicity of the situation, but it seems he’s l;et the PC crowd cloud his judgement?

Jonah’s empathy for the Ferguson community’s fear and loathing of the thin blue line of civil authority is extremely touching - to anyone ignorant of the elementary needs of a just and orderly society that is. Going back to Thomas Hobbes, or even Plato for that matter, almost every political scientist has freely acknowledged that the VERY FIRST function of justice is to protect the law - abiding from the lawbreakers. The desire that police appear to be “sweet and friendly” to everyone is perfectly fine, AFTER all lives and property are secured FIRST. Last I checked, Ferguson authorities committed an EPIC fail in these two principal functions this week.

I can't figure Jonah out. I read "Liberal Fascism" and really enjoyed it. It was published in June 2009 and really nails American Progressivism as Fascist ideology.

Since then, Jonah has had opportunities to basically say -- "the pinnacle of Progressivism as Fascism has been reached in Obama who is a tremendous fascist".

Only -- Jonah always pulls back. He makes excuses for Obama. He doesn't go after him. Liberalism? Sure, target that. Obama ... well, he's not all that bad ...

I gave up on Jonah a few years ago. He's not a truth teller.

Not very complicated, actually very predictable in Obamas society.

...who the president happens to be has nothing to do with the predictability of such actions...

The economics of the plantation was inherently based on stealing a very large chunk of the value of the labor of the enslaved people and diverting it into the plantation owner’s pockets.

...nonsense...what prevented them from hiring migrant and seasonal farm workers to do the harvesting...?

...why was it necessary for the ‘large chunk of labor’to be stolen from unpaid, slave labor...?

Good piece from Jonah. Take an extra minute to read the whole thing.

I call black rabble rousing the taxicab game. A black man can’t get a taxi to stop, so he blames it on racism. Never mind that every time the taxi driver has been mugged, or had someone skip on a fare, it was by a black guy. We see the dissembling effect of black culture’s rot on a black man who won’t, or can’t admit the truth, because the truth won’t get him anything but ridicule. Suing the taxi company is both easier and rewarding.

It’s the same phenomena we see when gang bangers kill other blacks, birds chirping. Rousing the rabble over black on black violence is a futile act of truth, having no reward at the end of the struggle.

“Ferguson wasn’t about police brutality, and the President knows it. If he wanted a teachable moment this was his opportunity. He could have talked about how blacks are 13% of the population in America and over 50% of homicide victims; how 91 % of these victims are murdered by other blacks and how, therefore, “communities of color” are dependent on a police presence for survival. He could have talked about how one quarter of the members of the grand jury that chose not to indict Officer Wilson were black. He could even have attacked the racist assumption that blacks will naturally react with mindless violence to decisions like this one; and that they alone of all American minority groups will be exempt from censure when they do. There are many ways a truly “post racial” President could have spoken truth to the power of the mob that exploded in violence in Ferguson. But instead Barack Obama enabled it as his racist advisor on racial affairs, Al Sharpton, swooped into Ferguson to pour gasoline on the flames.” (David Horowitz)
Obama and Holder declarations from the first day of the death of the young Black killed by white cop were directed to incite the racial riots. Upon their conscience, or lack of it, rest the main responsibility for the Ferguson riots.

I don’t believe that because blacks themselves are initiating the contacts; Mike Brown’s looting didn’t indicate he was afraid of any genocide at all.
