For many, the main lesson of the Ferguson verdict is that Michael Brown would still be alive if he were white — that Darren Wilson’s gunshots were the spawn of the racism always just beneath the surface of the white American soul.
However, in light of what we heard last night, I feel that the Ferguson incident is instructive to America in a larger sense. The key element in the Brown-Wilson encounter was not any specific action either man took — it was the preset hostility to the cops that Brown apparently harbored. And that hostility was key because it was indeed totally justified.
The right-wing take on Brown, that he was simply a “thug,” is a know-nothing position. The question we must ask is: What is the situation that makes two young black men comfortable dismissing a police officer’s request to step aside?
These men were expressing a community-wide sense that the official keepers of order are morally bankrupt. What America owes communities like Ferguson — and black America in general — is a sincere grappling with that take on law enforcement that is so endemic in black communities nationwide. As Northwestern philosopher Charles Mills has put it, “Black citizens are still differentially vulnerable to police violence, thereby illustrating their second class citizenship.”(continued)

What he’s saying blacks should be exempt from the rules that govern the rest of us because of past discrimination.
They shouldn’t have to obey the law, respect authority figures and take pride in their communities and in their country.
That’s the exactly the problem. Liberals believe blacks are subhumans and if they want to be that way, its racist to demand they conform to higher standards like the rest of society.
And they’re surprised Fergusons are burning in this country? C’mon.
Its the values, stupid.
Wrong tragedy because it’s a justified shooting by a police officer of a robber thug who punched then bum rushed a cop.

That a small percentage of the population (young black males) commit a huge amount of crime? That’s THEIR fault for making poor choices and having, as the first Bush called it, a ‘poverty of values.’
Michael Brown would still be alive if he had not viciously attacked the cop and came back for more. Trayvon would still be alive if he hadnt viciously attacked Zimmerman.

Just as during the robbery, Brown was certainly thinking that those who think robbery is wrong are morally bankrupt. Brown was a paragon of morality, don't you know...

It doesn’t take a genius to figure out it has nothing to do with racism.
This is typical elitist racism. Its the idea that young black men are justified strutting around like animals claiming territory in the middle of the street and then when asked to simply walk on the side walk they attack the officer go for his gun and then get shot and then shot and killed because they decide to charge the officer.
I’m so glad none of the black people I know and love fit in that category. I only encountered one thug of that caliber in my life and that was enough. I don’t expect any less from black people than I do of any other race and I feel that way about all people. My favorite teacher in school happened to be black as was my principle in Elementary school. Both were awesome ladies living and working in West Virginia. I had no idea for most of my life that such low class thug blacks even existed because most of the low class people I encountered in life were white.
I also grew up with an admiration of Martin Luther King Jr but the “civil rights” I see today doesn’t remotely resemble what he stood for and marched for. Its been turned into a race hustle exercise that demands a low class tribal justice not based on law but on perceived racial conflict and assumption of innate racism. I’m sorry but I don’t need to understand what causes a thug of any color to attack a police officer and try to take his gun and they certainly don’t deserve the countless hours of coverage that is denied those who are far more innocent and pass from this world unnoted because their deaths aren’t marketable.
America sure was asleep when they voted in the current occupant of the White House.
Decades and decades of Democrat/leftist welfare state policies. It accomplished what hundreds of years of slavery and the KKK couldn’t accomplish.

The mother of Michael Brown could be charged with felony armed robbery for allegedly attacking people in a Ferguson, Mo., parking lot because they were selling T-shirts honoring the late teenager.
The Ferguson Police Department is currently investigating claims that Lesley McSpadden brought a group of people — including her own mother — to beat vendors and rob them of their “Justice for Mike Brown” merchandise Oct. 18, The Smoking Gun has learned.
Exactly. Its the common bully attitude. Zimmerman and Officer Wilson were both relatively small guys so they thought they could just beat them down. You attack someone viciously who has a gun bouncing his head off the side walk you are going to get shot. You attack an officer and go for his gun you are going to get shot. Its not a problem with America its a problem with a few young men who haven’t learned the basics of how to conduct themselves. They’ve been nursed on leftist victimology, they’ve been told they are being kept down by whitey and the cops when the people keeping them down are themselves and their cartoon black “leaders” getting rich off their misery.
