Michael Brown Sr.'s Church Burned in Ferguson
NBC News ^ | 11 | JOHN BRECHER AND RICK BROWN

Posted on 11/25/2014 4:51:16 PM PST by SeekAndFind

The Missouri church where Michael Brown's father was baptized over the weekend was torched Monday night — but the pastor does not think the arson was part of the fiery violence that erupted elsewhere in the community.

The Rev. Carlton Lee told NBC News that he believes Flood Christian Church was targeted because he has repeatedly called for the arrest of Officer Darren Wilson, who fatally shot the unarmed teen but was not indicted by a grand jury.

"I'm very vocal in regards to the Michael Brown case," said Lee, who has participated in rallies and press conferences with Michael Brown Sr.

The church went up in flames around the same time about a dozen other buildings were set ablaze in Ferguson by protesters angered by the grand jury's decision, but it's on a remote section of West Florissant Avenue where other structures were unscathed.

"The police called me and told me the church was on fire," Lee said. "I was in complete disbelief. I didn't think anyone would set a church on fire.

"I feel like one of my children has died. I put my blood, my sweat, my tears into this church, getting this church built from the ground up. To see that it was taken down in a few minutes is really heartbreaking."

He said he told Michael Brown Sr. about the extensive damage on Tuesday afternoon. "He was just devastated again," he said.

The pastor said he doubted the same people who were raging on the other end of West Florissant had burned his church. Instead, he said, he suspected white supremacists who wanted to punish him for his support of the Brown family, who had just been baptized there.

"Sunday, we do the baptism, Monday, the church is one fire. It just doesn't add up,"

According to the article Mike Brown Sr.. But am not sure, since the article stated “Mike Brown’s father”, but did not differentiate if it was Jr. or Sr.

When the Ferguson mayor held a press conference today, he let local religious leaders speak. They were eloquent and moving. There is hope for Ferguson.

That was the stepfather, not the father. The father seems to have far more class than that savage tool.

Someone should point out to this reverend that you reap what you sow.

I felt sorry till I saw the bit about white supremacists.

Then, I realized this “pastor” was just another race baiter.

Actually Mike Sr asked for calm. The stepfather was the one who wanted the town toasted.

>> Must have been the KKK <<

More likely IMO, the church was burned by the white communists from ANSWER and the Workers’ World Party. These despicable characters are the main force behind the demonstrations, and they care nothing about the welfare of black people.

What these self-avowed communists want above all is to create overwhelming chaos — something their Marxist ideology teaches them will lead to a “Revolution of the Proletariat,” which in turn will overthrow the totally evil, irredeemably corrupt capitalist system. If black people happen to be harmed in the process, they don’t especially care.

(Or as they say, a Revolution is not a dinner party, and you can’t make an omelet without breaking eggs.)

Hahahahah. No sympathy from me. If you play with fire, or rioters, expect to get burned, literally.

Great! I can hear the campaign ad now: “When you don’t indict a white cop, another black church is burned!”

As in any insurance matter where big bucks are involved, a thorough investigation would be done. If the business is deep in the red, there’s a clue right there.

I don’t know who that one black clergy woman was, but she nailed it when she said the community must look WITHIN themselves to fix problems, and not to point blame at others. She needs to visit the White House! Amen to her.

>> insurance money? <<

If so, somebody is probably going to be very disappointed, because most insurance policies will not cover civil insurrection.

Anyway, I’ll still put my money on ANSWER. They are the most prominent organizers of the demonstrations. And they have a deep and well-documented history as self-avowed communists, and they are basically an outgrowth of the openly Marxist “Workers’ World Party” (WWP).
