The analogy in that context sends a chill down my spine. Yet if Whitey (if I may use the name) could only muster up half the militancy of the Left and the race mongers.....

I think you have that exactly backwards. It is the old media that is dominated by “Progressives”. It is the new media where conservatives and classic liberals have a foothold. ABCNBCCBS theWashingtonPost and The New York Times AP are the old media.
The new media exists on talk radio, the Internets and somewhat, on Fox news.
That is what mayor Richard Daley of Chicago did in the sixties.
