Climate change could shift buckeyes’ habitat to Michigan
The Columbus Dispatch ^ | November 24, 2014 | By Laura Arenschield

There is a lot we could lose if we don’t get a handle on climate change. Clean air. Manageable storms. A variety of animals and plants and a few islands.

But buckeyes? The state trees of Ohio? To Michigan?

“Dread the thought,” said Roger Williams, an associate professor of forest management at Ohio State University.

But that could happen if the world keeps warming, Williams said yesterday during a climate-change-oriented tour of the Ohio State University campus. The tour was sponsored by the Environment Ohio Research and Policy Center, an environmental advocacy organization.

“Ohioans all go to Michigan when they need a lesson in football”

Now that’s funny right there.

A wolverine is an animal, that burrows into the soil. Michigan Wolverines and Wisconsin Badgers are not really based on the animal, but that earlier settlers dug into the ground to form a place of residence. Mining was part of the the states early finding. Now think of it would you want to have a mascot for your state a tree or an animal. Wisconsin Badgers? Michigan Wolverines? Minnesota Gophers? and Ohio State Buckeyes? A state with an animal mascot other than gophers would make a state sound tough, but the buckeyes are just a form of chestnut.

I think the global warmists get their ideas from old Tom & Jerry cartoons.

A human couldn't come up with such nonsense, only cartoon characters!

Science from NOAA Climatologist Sam Clemens:

“In the space of one hundred and seventy-six years the Lower Mississippi has shortened itself two hundred and forty-two miles. That is an average of a trifle over one mile and a third per year. Therefore, any calm person, who is not blind or idiotic, can see that in the Old Oolitic Silurian Period, just a million years ago next November, the Lower Mississippi River was upwards of one million three hundred thousand miles long, and stuck out over the Gulf of Mexico like a fishing-rod. And by the same token any person can see that seven hundred and forty-two years from now the Lower Mississippi will be only a mile and three-quarters long, and Cairo and New Orleans will have joined their streets together, and be plodding comfortably along under a single mayor and a mutual board of aldermen.

There is something fascinating about science. One gets such wholesale returns of conjecture out of such a trifling investment of fact.”

I think I'd rather run into a bear than a Wolverine. Big angry weasels.

"I don't think a wolverine has actually been spotted in Michigan since the Teddy Roosevelt Administration."

Of late, they have also become extinct in the Ohio State end zone.

We had Rebels and Bulldogs, some folks thought Colonel Reb was racist and morphed him into a black bear which is ignored by about everyone except Shepard Smith. Arkansas took some of the luster off the “Egg Bowl” when they put a whuppin on my Rebels. The SEC West has been tough this year, no one undefeated, no non-conference loses, and the team with the worst record will be 6-6 and possibly 7-5 and that could be a tie.

First Michigan Wolverine spotted in 200 years (2004)

Personally I suspect it came from Canada.

Arkansas might be the best team going right now in the West, they lost 14-13 to Bama. I would love to have seen a rematch.

Arkansas is LAST in the seven team SEC West, If they beat Missouri Sat. they will end up 7-5 and I believe the loser of the Texas A&M, LSU game will also be 7-5. Alabama and Mississippi State each have one loss but MSU lost to Bama, Auburn and Ole Miss each have 3 losses, LSU and A&M each have 4 loses and Arkansas has 5, I believe Arkansas is the best last place team in the nation.

Arkansas could beat ANY SEC team right now.

Watch out next year, it was just a matter of getting over the hump.
