CHUCK HAGEL FIRING: TWO WRONGS DON'T MAKE A RIGHT
Breitbart ^ | 11/24/2014 | by JOEL B. POLLAK

Posted on 11/24/2014 7:51:13 AM PST by SeekAndFind

The New York Times reports that President Barack Obama is about to dismiss Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel. The reason given? That the White House recognized that "the threat from the Islamic State would require a different kind of skills than those that Mr. Hagel was brought on to employ."

In other words: Hagel was brought on to downgrade the military radically, but now the military turns out to be necessary, after all.

Yet that cannot be the only reason, absent any sign that Obama is committing to a sudden, steep increase in the defense budget, and reversing the non-sequester cuts of recent years. Rather, there are two likely explanations: that Hagel has turned out to be as incompetent as his critics predicted; and that Hagel, always a loose cannon, proved too independent, promising tougher action against ISIS than Obama was prepared to authorize.

Hagel should never have been chosen for the post. He had no firm grasp of national security strategy, was weak on Iran, had a disturbing anti-Israel track record, and fumbled his confirmation hearing badly.

Other nominees, including Michèle Flournoy--who would have been the first woman to hold the post--would have been better, but Obama could not pass up the chance to use a Republican as a bipartisan fig leaf to slash the Pentagon.

That said, there is no immediate or urgent failure that ought to have triggered Hagel's departure. Until he began to "go rogue" on ISIS, he had faithfully carried out Obama's policies.

Hagel was chosen for the same reason Biden was, blame insurance, and of course Hillary. When O’s plans start going to crap, better have someone to blame and if they are my enemies all the better. The true person at fault is Valarie, O’s Svengali, guess who only goes when he goes!

Hegel’s thousand yard stare told me all I need to know.
Then 0 went on and on in a louder voice how Hegel always told him how he sees it. Looks like one must not confront the One.

I bet Judd Gregg is happy that he didn't take the bait in 2008 to be the token Republican cabinet member.

Reason for firing: Hagel is only a 75% sycophant. Only total, complete and shameless sycophants are qualified for the Obama gang.

Something very bad is causing this. Maybe it just a game with Cruz’s threat, or Hagel threatened a resignation and was forced out, or the United Technologies CEO resignation is related. Whatever it is, I can’t believe the lie they are spreading - that Hagel wasn’t tough enough. Absolute insanity for them to push that.

In other words he, being ex-military, Hagel realized what it will take to eliminate ISIS. What oudmbo and his ilk have in mind will NOT work. (Beside, odumbo doesn’t have the taste for killing muslims, today or otherwise)

Hagel's "ex-military" does not involve the same kind of strategic thinking as, say, a retired full or Lt. General, FWIW.

However, Hagel's career as viable administrator is quite broad. But he is right, that ISIS is a nucleus to precipitate a broad Moslem attack on all Christian or post-Christian societies. We have our own inner enemy of a like nature, acting out in Ferguson now.

Question is: how do we handle the ominous reaction if we try to annihilate ISIS, to a man? (Which is really what is needed)

>> People voted against Obama on Nov. 4 because of the fiascoes of the porous border, Obamacare, Lois Lerner, and Americans not being able to get decent jobs <<

Yes.

But also, what about ebola, Benghazi, ISIS, Iran’s nukes and homosexual marriage?

>> If Hagel was Fired , why is Obama giving a Speech right now praising Hagel? <<

Shakespeare would have understood Obama’s sarcasm perfectly, because, like Brutus, Hagel “was an honourable man.”
