I’m sure there will be violence and looting no matter what the jury finds, but is it possible that this information has been fabricated to fan the flames? Lord knows that’s the last thing either side needs.
IIRC, about 15-20 years ago the last big national Klan organization got taken down by a little old black lady in a civil suit over incitement. The Klan tried to claim plausible deniability, but the civil jury didn’t buy it and awarded damages far in excess of what the Klan could pay.
Any violence here could be handled the same way. Not only that, but discovery would force Sharpton and his groups to open up their books for forensic audit.
It would take years, but chances are it would force Sharpton and NAN to spend millions on defending themselves, trying to thwart subponaes, etc.
They picked a good location in Charleston. I can think of few better places to royally PO the downtown crowd. Most places downtown have so little extra space that any protest there would be counterproductive.
