If I understood the President correctly the 4.4 million immigrants who just got their “get out of jail card” are no longer considered illegal. They are simply called the UNDOCUMENTED.
The President, as usual, referenced a young woman who had been in the US illegally, I mean UNDOCUMENTED, since she was 4 years old. Apparently Mom and Dad were also illegal - oops - UNDOCUMENTED. She is now a college student working on her 3rd degree. A very admirable story. She beat the system and now can come out of the shadows. She will not be able to vote, for now, nor will she be able to have access to Obamacare, for now, but there is always the ER. Time and the realization of who she will vote for will change all that.
The debate will rage. The Republicans will react like always but the simple fact remains: if you have money enough, certain skills, or are a significant voting block, you too can go from illegal to UNDOCUMENTED.
Over the past decade we have watched bankers commit illegal action after illegal action only to be given a slap on the wrist and the usual fine.
Risk Departments have been created to determine if the dollar return, the reward, is greater than the government fine, the risk. Always assuming, no CEO will ever go to jail the bankers have learned that crime pays.
Perhaps we should reclassify these banking actions as no longer illegal but simply UNDOCUMENTED.
The bankers are joined by athletes who punch women, abuse children, and break substance abuse rules. Their status and skills over time created a separate category for them which allows illegality to be excused. Although there is the usual video we may consider it all just UNDOCUMENTED.
Each situation from bankers and althletes to immigration is different and deserves not to be co-mingled, however, we are moving in a dangerous direction where illegality is dismissed since the benefits to others is simply too dramatic.
The bankers actions support their stock and the top 1%. The athletes perform for the owners. The immigrants, all 4.4 and the 6.6 waiting to get their out of jail card, will support the Democrats.
All in all the benefits for a few dictate what once was illegal is now just
UNDOCUMENTED.
Wonder how all the people who live in the projects and low end housing trying to scratch out a living feel about his amnesty gift?.
This author doesn’t see to deeply, imho. Anyone who fails to highlight that our Constitution has been broken is busy being irrelevant.
There is a law passed by Congress that says illegals cannot be given green cards, social security, and benefits.
Obama just said he’s not chasing Group X of the illegals.
Then he said he was breaking a Congressional law and giving them green cards, social security and benefits and the Congress can go to hell.
As long as the taxpayer support keeps rolling their way, I doubt they care.
I don’t understand the Chamber of Commerce types who think this will help them out. As soon as the illegals become legal, they won’t be such cheap labor any more. Maybe the C of C is depending on even more crossing over the border after the amnesty.

The SEC or FDIC find bank "A" in violation of some regulation/s which bilked the depositors or investors of X$.
Bank "A" then signs an agreement which settles the case with the DOJ, SEC, or FDIC, in a non-admission of guilt for $26 million.
Bank "A" then removes $26 million of depositors money to pay the fine to the feds who filed the charges to protect the depositors/investors in the first place.
It's a double dipping A$$ pounding scam which feeds the feds at every level and robs us with "Justice Served".

If we all decided to stop paying income taxes (like most of the undocumented workers in the United States) would we be illegal tax cheats or just undocumented taxpayers?

What will the dems do when a future president says “I’ve waited long enough for the higher tax rates on cbs, nbc, and cnn. I have directed the irs to begin collecting an additional 25 pct from them with a corresponding reduction in rates for fox, talk radio, and chosen internet news sites. I’ve waited 237 days too long. I will also direct the epa, dept of Ed., to dissolve and establish State agencies”
Undocumented is the politically correct term for illegal aliens.
We’re not supposed to say illegal aliens anymore. That is analogous to the “N” word for black people.
For now, we’re still allowed to say illegal immigrants, but not illegal aliens.
Soon, we will not be allowed to say illegal immigrants, which is where the softer PC term, undocumented, comes in.
In controlling the language, the liberals are changing the status of this group of people from being here illegally, to simply missing documents.
Hey, haven’t you ever lost a driver’s license before? You were undocumented then. To liberals, it’s the same thing as just not having your ID, but no question about legal status.
Inquiring minds want to know, “How did she pay her tuition for 3 degrees?”

Count on it Obama idea of getting the hiring stats up and new votes won’t be surprised if more people start to buy China goods only.

If they are anything like the people in the suburbs who are too busy or too lazy to inform themselves they know nothing about anything. I have mentioned some of the goings on to friends who are well off, well educated, and should know better only to find out that they haven't a clue as to what has been happening over the last 6 years. Whats worse is they don't seem to give a damn. The day they wake up will be a memorable one.
Apparently, "anchor baby" is out too. I don't think there's a preferred alternative either.

Beyond that, wouldn’t ONE degree be sufficient to begin making a contribution to American society?
She sounds like one of those ‘professional scholars’. They never have a real job because they are constantly pursuing the next degree.
That makes the most sense of anything I have heard...if he is charged, then he can’t be deported to Kenya, is that what you mean?
The UNDOCUMENTED gaggle renting next door ran their SUV into the lake behind the house last night. After 5 years of driving those vehicles down the side yard until its destroyed one of them had a few too many and left the SUV in gear and got out.
The cops and the fire dept have been out all morning. You can’t even see the vehicle it is on the bottom. The back yard is littered with empty beer cans. Thanks Mr President for our multi cultural neighbors.
