The Jennings School District will not hold school Monday and Tuesday in expectation that a grand jury will announce its decision this weekend on whether to indict officer Darren Wilson.

Parents in the Jennings district, which includes the eastern edge of Ferguson, will receive automated calls this afternoon notifying them that schools will be closed, Superintendent Tiffany Anderson said.

"With the heightened anxiety and activity, we thought it would be better for students and staff to extend the holiday at this point," she said.

Then, at the end of the article:

Even with no school, meals will be provided to children in need on Monday and Tuesday from 8 to 10 a.m., and lunch from noon to 1 p.m. at Jennings High School and Fairview Elementary School.

So they want to keep them off the roads, but they will allow the kids to go to school for breakfast and again for lunch.

Got it.

I’m sure all the people in the community who understand the value of an education are deeply saddened.

How pathetic is it that you need to close schools because blacks will riot if they don’t get their way?

Speaks volumes about the black “culture”.

This reduces parents in the area to no more than dorm deans.

I cannot believe the schools don't provide their clothing too.  They are already their primary care health provider, in many instances.

The thugs never cared about school anyway. They’ll never miss it.

ROFL!

Bunch of marroons.

I think they are not worried about transit, but being there IN the building.

Honestly I think they may be safer BEING in school.

It sounds like they have a pretty good idea what the outcome is going to be since they announced the closure already.

I agree. They’ve been told already. This is the ‘48 hours warning’ starting right now.

What absolute wusses. On one hand you have blacks that when they don’t get their way - they riot. Rioting in this case is nearly a safe activity because no one will stand against them in force. (Holder is seeing to that.) Hence, rioting, pillaging, looting and destruction of property is actually a weak act. It comes from a weak people that constantly have their hands out. They are takers.

On the other hand, you have people who are hiding in fear. They are enablers. They capitulate to the demands of the weak. That act on feeling and not on rational thought or logic.

Rational thought dictates that the rioters and looters need a beat down. The enablers need a talking to, perhaps some tax dollars withheld, and a swift kick in the arse.

In both cases, they are sorry excuses for Americans ... zero rugged individualism ... total herd mentality.

Yea, sure they did. Kids safety my behind, they wanted to have another long weekend. Perhaps that “day off” should come WITHOUT PAY!

So the area gets the whole week of Thanksgiving to riot?

Silly me.....how about just arrest every protestor who's not a resident?

This is so ridiculous. At this point, even if Wilson HAD clearly shot the thug in cold blood, it wouldn’t be worth all this. Blacks are killed all the time by other blacks. Whites are killed all the time. It’s sad, but people don’t react like this...schools having to be closed, people prepping like some kind of hurricane is coming. Sweet innocent little old ladies are killed. Boy Scouts are killed. BABIES are killed. People don’t react like this.

The world has truly gone insane.

The decision to close schools was not based on any notification from law enforcement that an announcement is imminent, Anderson went on to say.

They’ve pretty much have been telegraphing the decision for over a week to slowly release the pressure.
