Harry Reid forced this change through. Why should the GOP be so eager to restore the rule??

And why are we having this discussion at all??? Let the Democrats sweat it out, as far as implications of their rule change when the other party is in charge.

It seems to me, the Dems. have their cake and eat it too, if they force through this nuclear option when they are in charge, but then the GOP puts it back now that they are taking over.

He is an idiot. He believes you can treat dishonorable people honorably and come out ahead.

McCain is worst. But Grahmnesty is possbly right here.

In a 54-46 Senate, no filibuster will allow him, McCain, Collins and one of the other RINOs to cross over and vote to put Obama nominees on the bench (with Biden casting a tie breaking vote). The 60 supermajority is harder to reach.

No republican should vote to confrim any of this tyrant’s nominees.

It is time to shut his ass down all the way around.

There will be a time when the situation is reversed with a R POTUS so the Democrats will go right back to filibustering judicial appointments and losers like McCain and Mini-Me will not have the guts to vote for removing a restored filibuster.

I grad Senators on a curve so I expect much more from a Senator from SC than from AZ. Graham goes to the bottom of the class.

The 60 supermajority is harder to reach.

Exactly. I don't know why everyone here has the knee-jerk reaction to crap on this proposal just because it came out of Graham's mouth. Make it 60 for two years, then when/if we get a Republican President, and have a Republican Senate, change it back to 51. Harry Reid set the precedent for this, just do it.

Maybe not, he has a point

"If you keep it at 51, all they [Democrats] have to do is pick up three, four Republicans and I'm worried that you’re no stronger than your weakest link. Having to get to 60 is a much more collaborative process."

Sen Cruz has stated that GOP should not allow any Presidential nominee to be confirmed with Obama Executive Orders on amnesty. With 51 vote confirmation there is a couple of easy pickings for Rats.

No they shouldn’t but they do. So take away any incentive for them to do so by reinstating the supermajority requirement. So either they won’t vote for 0bama’s communist judges because it won’t matter, or if they do, it won’t matter. They don’t get confirmed.
