Lord Jug-Ears has completely reversed himself in his understanding of the Constitutional limits of his Office. I’ve yet to hear one convincing argument that would adequately justify his change of position on any grounds.
Reagan did but it was for 200,000 refugees from Communist Nicaragua, not 5 million who came here for economic reasons.
3rd world “refugees” are still coming in by the hundred thousand.

Juan was repeating this numerous times and it conflicted totally with my memory. There was legislative and executive action which is the constitutional way but no one contradicted Williams. Now this nonsense is cemented into conventional wisdom.
Reagan didn’t do it alone. The law was passed by the House, and Senate, and Reagan signed it into law.
I heard the guys on Red Eye radio saying the networks won’t show Obama’s amnexty speech, and the WH is mad.
I think we’re talking about two different things. There was the amnesty bill Reagan signed. That’s not what I’m talking about. He also unilaterally ordered the INS not to deport Nicaraguans back to the clutches of the communist government they fled. The Democrats are trying to equate that to what Obama is doing.
Everything with the left is a straw man argument, creating facts out of thin lies to knock them down in defense of their fraud. Need to justify an illegal act by their pet thug, say Reagan did the same thing. Whether Reagan did it or not matters not, so long as the media will tell it to the dupes. From there it will be committed to the $h!? stained reasoning of liberal scholars and Washington experts to become academic fact.

The only time that sort of executive action has been used legitimately is for genuine emergencies - for example, after the 2010 Haitian earthquake, when children who were in the process of adoption were waivered through without the usual processing. And it’s generally fairly small groups of people.
200,000 is a lot, but they were being exterminated by the Communists and genuinely needed refuge. However, even that has been abused by Obama, who has refused to classify as refugees Christians from lands where there is overt and severe persecution, often leading to death, and instead giving refugee status to Muslims who are being sought by the authorities of their countries, not because they are being persecuted, because they are members of extremist Muslim groups.
I will bet that a lot of the people who are going to be “legalized” by Obama will be Africans or Middle Easterners, mostly if not all Muslim.
