Poll: Many Latinos Disapprove of Obama's Executive Amnesty

A new NBC poll shows Latinos do not overwhelmingly support President Obama's decision to thwart Congress on amnesty through executive action.

Nearly half of Americans disapprove of President Barack Obama’s expected plan to take executive action that would potentially allow millions of undocumented immigrants to stay legally in the United States, according to a new NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.

Latinos are divided, with 43 percent supporting the action and 37 percent opposing it. But the sample size here is small (just 110 Latino respondents), so the numbers have a high margin of error.

There's just a six percent difference in Latinos who do and do not support the President's plan to rewrite immigration law with an executive order. Notice how NBC was sure to add a note questioning the numbers due to a small sample size, ignoring that the margin of error could also result in more Latinos being against executive amnesty.

Despite what the media would have us believe, immigration reform is often at the bottom of the priority list for Latino voters and a majority want enforcement before a comprehensive overhaul.

By a margin of 56 percent to 40 percent, Hispanic voters oppose allowing illegal immigrants to obtain federal benefits, including Obamacare benefits, “while they are going through the legalization process and before the 90% goal is reached.”

When asked to choose which of four issues — the economy, immigration reform, education, or health care — is most important to them, registered Hispanic voters said immigration reform was their lowest priority. Just 31 percent ranked the issue first or second, compared with 62 percent for the economy, 57 percent for health care, and 45 percent for education. Non-registered voters, on the other hand, ranked immigration reform as their highest priority.

Generally speaking, registered Hispanic voters were far more likely to support tougher security and enforcement measures than non-registered voters. For example, 64 percent of registered voters said they supported employment verification to determine if job applicants are lawful residents, compared with just 46 percent of non-registered voters. Additionally, 55 percent of registered voters backed increased border-security measures (fencing, drones, police, etc.), compared with 45 percent of non-registered voters.

Regardless, President Obama is moving forward and will announce his plans for executive amnesty Thursday night at 8 pm et in a prime-time address from the White House.

So?! Wouldn’t matter if 90% of the country didn’t want “executive” amnesty.

A better poll would be the number of Hispanic men who voted Republican this time around. Something like 58% in Texas voted R.

Dems should be worried.

I do understand Latino’s opposing this monstrosity. Those who are here legally and having actual lives do not need more job competition, or more non-English speakers in schools where their own kids are mastering English. And I’ll bet they fear an anti-Latino backlash, which could hurt some who really want to be good Americans.

I’m sure that at least three Mexicans don’t like amnesty and all the “Freebies” that will result.

OBAMA’S UNCONSTITUTIONAL AMNESTY TO MIGRANTS THAT ARE LIVING ILLEGALLY IN THE U.S.A.

After destroying the best health care system in the world, Obama is determined to grant wide amnesty to foreigners living illegally in U.S. If Obama wants to make the U.S. into another banana republic, it seems he is well underway to reaching his goal.

The Republicans must make it perfectly clear that Obama has declared a merciless war against the American workers and the middle class of America. There are 92 million of able Americans out of the work force because they cannot find employment and Obama wants to legalize and give work permits to over 11 million illegal aliens allowing them to bring here the rest of their families. In other words, another 25 or 30 million that either will compete with Americans and legal immigrants searching for scarce jobs or are going to be added to welfare, bankrupting Medicaid and the food stamp system as well as ruining even more the quality of the public schools with the massive infuse of hundreds of thousands of children without speaking English to already overburdened schools systems.

The only way to win is to make sure the democrats lose more Americans than they gain immigrants.

Most if not all of the illegal aliens are not even asking for citizenship. They just want to work here and get free stuff for their families. The only flag they salute is red, white, and green.

Obama is giving the middle finger to America tomorrow and especially to the legal immigrants who went through the whole process to beome citizens. This one action will be the final pin to bring the U.S. completely to its knees. It will destroy the economy by taking away jobs from people who pay their taxes and giving them to those who don’t. In the end he is shooting any of the cronies that went along with him in the foot.

Obama’s usurpation of power is not about immigration reform. If it’s as urgent as he claims, he could have done this at any time during the past six years.

It’s about throwing the GOP into disarray. It’s a gambit and I think it’s one that will backfire. I think the GOP will unite on a strategy to battle this and I think they’ll get some Democrats to join them.

My LEGAL immigrant neighbor hates the idea of amnesty and gets really worked up about illegals. He came here legally, fair and square, and illegals get him so worked up his Spanish gets too fast for me to follow.

Don't confuse legal with illegal.

This has been reported often by conservatives that those who entered the U.S. through the front door are the most disgusted with Obama letting thousands in through the back door.

Also, nothing is heard from the thousands of blacks that will never have a chance now to work in entry level jobs that will be taken by the illegals.

If I was making cash money and supporting a family in another country with hard earned strong dollars, I don’t think I would be very excited about signing up for the state.

a scoop....the “latinos” in favor of obola’s plans are probably mostly from mexico.....and located in Ca,Il,NC and a few other states. Most S Ameicians (who look down on mexicans) seem to be against this plan.

MSM groups them all together.....

The problem is there is not real competition with UNIVISION and TELEMUNDO. They report the issue with a liberal slant, so you have the majority of latinos towing the line.

For our part, we have done a poor job in teaching them it isn't in their best interest; because the US can EASILY become the country they left. Corrupt, no justice, with NO HOPE.

We are almost there.

..the 5 or 7 million is really 45 to 50 million when you consider the “families” who the rats will insist on “reuniting”
