Sad news.

Now that’s its closed, nearest rural hospital is Heart Of The Rockies Hospital in Salida, Colorado an hour’s drive away.

Its part of the Centura Health network, its modern, efficient and well-run. Its on the outskirts of the city.

Leadville’s residents have to go for a long drive for medical care. I don’t envy the fact they no longer have a hospital serving them nearby.

Thanks to O and Grubby Gruber this will continue. It is an effort to force people into ‘cities’ where they can get ‘health care’ that is approved by the government.

Was amazed,
Was driving through Leadville on the way to Twin Lakes to drive route 82 to Aspen.
Stopped at a very small drive in liquor store and bought a mixed drink to go. They handed it to me through the drive in window and off we went.
Route 82 is one very fine scenic route.
