D’Aleo, now chief forecaster at WeatherBell Analytics, was one of the few meteorologists to accurately predict a colder-than-normal November.
He expects several major East Coast snowstorms and “widespread below-zero temperatures” that will plunge much of the nation into a deep freeze for as long as six weeks this winter.
“I wouldn’t be surprised if it snows in Atlanta, Dallas, and Birmingham,” he told CNSNews.com.
“We’ve been talking about this being another one of those historic winters since the spring. The summer before last, we had seen last winter as being one that people near the Great Lakes would remember for a long time, and it turned out to be the coldest December to March on record in Chicago, and the snowiest in Detroit, and top five coldest in many places in the central [part of the U.S.]
D’Aleo noted that the unseasonably cold weather, which is being blamed for 17 deaths since Saturday, is just “a preview” of the coming months and years ahead, when he predicts that temperatures will be up to 20 degrees lower than normal.
“And then we think this winter will be another strong one. It may end early in some parts of the country, like the Northeast, but it will be very hard, especially in mid-winter. We’ll get a break after this [current] assault, it may ease a little bit, but we think there’ll be an extended period in mid-winter that will really be harsh all over the nation.”

Good for the week ahead…
Cold summer here and its already January cold. We didn’t ever break 20 degrees today.
It got up into the 80’s a few times this summer and now it is 18. It’s amazing how this Climate Change can happen in just a few months.
I better go trade the Infiniti for a Prius.

Their first real snow at Munising on lake Superior was something like 40 inches. Looks cold up there today even with the sun shining. You can see the snow out over the lake though.

I remember last year during the blizzards and polar vortex . . . it too is caused by Global Warming . . . the weather just so extreme now because of Global Warming.
And I remember in what the 70’s . . . it was Global Cooling, we were all going to freeze to death.
Hopefully the Gruber Gate will at least get some in this country to not believe and darn thing they say. But I don’t have high hopes. Too many suckers out there that will fall for anything. Especially if it HURTS corporate America and rich people in general.
AlGore sold too many ‘carbon credits’, Saved us from Global Warming, but threw us into Global Cooling....
I don’t suppose he would be willing to give back about half that money he collected, to keep us from freezing to death?
How long does the pause have to last before we start calling it “global cooling” ?

The sun was shining here this morning too. Temperature of 11 degrees F and wind chill of minus six shining. But only around six inches of snow, so far. In that respect we’ve been lucky. Taking a Caribbean cruise with my wife and daughter this coming January and am half expecting to see ice bergs.
