JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. (AP) - Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon has declared a state of emergency and activated the National Guard in advance of a grand jury decision about whether a white police officer will be charged in the fatal shooting of a black 18-year-old in the St. Louis suburb of Ferguson.
Nixon said Monday that the National Guard would assist state and local police as needed, in case there is civil unrest when the grand jury's decision is announced.
There was no indication an announcement is imminent....

Have no fear, the rules of engagement will be as restrictive as ever. The NG will be armed with water pistols and riot shields. It will take an hour for any medic helos to get permission to rescue the NG wounded. There will be more NG KIA in Ferguson than in Afghanistan in the last month. no sarcasm.
This event surely IS the Lexingtonian flashpoint of a hoped for Obama revolution. May not pan out....but no effort to inspire death will be un-used.

My guess is that the grand jury announcement will happen by Thursday at latest. And if they don’t charge the officer, the authorities will be out in force in a big way to stop the rioters in no time flat.
