A new strain of racism from the newest Americans
The Washington Times ^ | November 16, 2014 | Armstrong Williams

Posted on 11/16/2014 2:42:57 PM PST by Biggirl

Racism in America has often been reduced to white-against-black discrimination, and understandably so. After all, it was white colonists who forcibly removed Africans from their homeland and brought them to America to serve as slaves on plantations.

Let's talk about Black against White racism.

The other kinds pale in comparison.

Hispanic on black ethnic cleansing has been going on for years in Southern California.

That's not exactly true...

Fellow Africans willing to sell one another, Arab slave traders, and by the way, wasn't the first person to change indentured servitude to slavery in the Colonial America, black?

True, as far as it goes. But other cultures had been taking slaves for thousands of years before the white colonists in the New World. Slavery was an institution as old as civilization itself. And less that a century after the United States was founded, a great war was fought to eliminate slavery, at the cost of hundreds of thousands of lives.

The debt is paid in full.

“After all, it was white colonists who forcibly removed Africans from their homeland and brought them to America to serve as slaves on plantations.”

As others have pointed out, that’s not the way it went. Africans were willing to sell other Africans to slave traders. Still are.

Mr. Williams needs to study up on his facts more before he writes such articles.

Well, I wouldn’t call it “ethnic cleansing.” One of the problems that immigrant groups have is that they often end up living in black neighborhoods, and of course they immediately become targets because the immigrants are upwardly mobile whereas the local populace is not. I think a lot of the gang activity you see among certain California ethnic groups (Vietnamese and other Asians, Filipinos, some Hispanics, etc.) is because it was initially their way of banding together and defending themselves against the hostility of the black population in the neighborhoods in which they lived.

I remember once meeting a Vietnamese kid (very tough, but he’d survived long enough to go to college) who I thought was black when I talked to him on the phone...because his family had been settled in a ghetto by the refugee services agency that helped them find housing, and that lifestyle was his model of life - and speech. Fortunately, he was able to overcome it in his life, although it was definitely a little surprising when he opened his mouth and sounded like he was from Bed-Stuy or Watts!

You can’t discuss african slavery without the muslim slave traders that sold blacks to europeans, and you can’t discuss the black tribal warfare that went on where the winning side slaughtered the losers, but only later did the losers get to live because the black tribal winners sold the losers into slavery.

You can’t discuss it without mentioning slavery still is well in existence in Africa and the middle east. Not here. Not in any european country.

Let’s get a more complete, objective, unbiased, non-propagandist view here.

Africa is crisscrossed with slave trails because the blacks and Arabs found the blacks in Africa an easy target for slavers. Dr. Livingstone used these trails almost exclusively while exploring Africa. He even tagged along with the slavers on his explorations and mapping of Africa.

Yeah that’s the ticket, Mexican gang bangers are being upwardly mobile when they shoot up or burn the homes of blacks.

Mr. Williams is probably using the black history books he used in college in the Black oriented curriculum.

Countries don’t naturally form with a diverse population, and when in the past they’ve occurred it’s usually been as a result of armed conquest. These unnaturally formed countries have either melded together into a single population made up of one mixed race with one language and one religion or they’ve come apart, and they’ve usually come apart with extreme violence. The longer these diverse populations are forced to coexist with one another without mixing and becoming one, the more the hatred grows among them and the more violently they break apart, but break apart they will, or genocide will settle the issue once and for all.

Why is this and why can’t we all just get along? The truth of the matter is that we (the human race) just aren’t as civilized as we would like to think we are. Our species, Homo-sapiens-sapiens, isn’t that long “out of the trees” and the veneer of civilization is very thin, to non-existent, upon us all. We’re all carrying the genes that got us here and some of those genes carry a very basic survival instinct that has allowed us to survive thus far.

This most basic of all survival instincts is self-preservation and it’s the one that warns us to be very wary of those who are different than us, our family, and our tribe. Those who possessed this survival instinct survived and reproduced, and those who had no fear/distrust of strangers didn’t survive. Over the years, this survival instinct has been referred to as tribalism, nationalism, ethnocentrism, racism, and various other isms, but it’s an inborn instinct carried in our genes whether we like it or not.

Mr. Williams might also mention the role of Muslims and Islam in the slave trade...

Actually, it was other native black Africans who sold them to white slave traders who used the real force when they captured them from other tribes.

You beat me to it!

Ishmaelites have been in the business of slave-trading all the way back to the story of the Patriarch Joseph. In Genesis.

I've been saying for years that when whites become the minority in America, that affirmative action entitlement blacks are going to get put in their place.

Other cultures moving here from Mexico, eastern European countries, Arab nations, China, et al, don't share white guilt in what our ancestors may have done. These people come from countries where people are truly oppressed. They never owned a slave and never shot an Indian and they could care less about ancient history.

This is partly what's happening in LA, viz. Mexicans are tired of blacks incessant whining w/constant hand out for freebies. Interesting times we live in.
