ROCKUMENTARY: NOVEMBER 15, 1975

I was living in the San Gabriel Valley of Southern California working as a programmer for an oil company. Life was good. On a weekend, I could make a perfect transition from one freeway to another, which is a “high” in itself.

So what were you up to?

Cue the Rockumentary theme!

San Remo Golden Strings: “Festival Time”

This band was Motown’s Funk Brothers backed with pickup musicians from the Detroit Symphony.

#10 – War: “Low Rider”

They were going strong in the Seventies, one of the great funk bands of the era.

One thermal blanket and electric forced-air heat for the bedroom. I can handle it.

They buried Bessie in an unmarked grave. Janis Joplin bought her a headstone.

#79 – Fleetwood Mac: “Over My Head”

Mick Fleetwood’s band had been around for nearly a decade with many musicians coming and going through the years. This was the Stevie Nicks and Lindsay Buckingham era, the most successful era of the band, and they made a mint.
