Boy, how little some people know about Alaska. I've never owned a cell phone, they don't work out this way along the Yukon. Everybody finally got on the local grid in the late 80's out this way. Nearest LEO's over 200 miles away and our road is closed until April; now that's real freedom. No property taxes or any other state or local taxes; we live in an unorganized borough, no local government to pass restrictive ordinances. Everybody thinks they run the show and everybody else tells them to put it where the sun don't shine. No crime and everybody is armed to shoot something if it appears. Hasn't been a murder here in 35 years; when was the last killing where most freepers call home, this morning?
It’s OK Eska, too many Freeper’s have **absolutely no clue(( about Alaska, let alone the Bush.
Be fun to have them try and live up at someplace civilized, like Manley Hot Springs for a full set of seasons.....
Or out at the Brevig Mission.... LOL
Ya, we see them show up every Spring, gonna do it all, live off the land; and everything. Let a year go by and 2 outta of 3 are heading south with their tail between their legs soon as the road opens. All the locals bet on how many months those lower 48ers will survive, before cracking up. I’ve been here along the Yukon 15 years, it ain’t so bad; actually heaven.
