Anti-American Progressives Cancel Veterans Day Ceremony at School for First Time in 80 Years

The poisonous progressive agenda has oozed into a school district in Wisconsin which has caused the cancellation of a traditional Veterans Day ceremony that has been held since the 1930′s. Part of the time-honored tradition, which is the main reason the anti-Second Amendment rights leftists have banned the annual event, is because a 21-gun salute is conducted as part of the ceremony, and the controlist educators are worried that some people may feel an “uneasiness,” even though blanks, not real bullets are used in the rifles.

“There are just some conditions that we have to adhere to and the shooting of guns, even with blanks, is something we don’t feel is appropriate given society, and the concerns that we have and that community has, on school premises,” said Tim Libham, the Executive Director of Administration for the Eau Claire School District, as reported by WEAU.

The school district got blasted on its Facebook page from outraged citizens and veterans for their anti-American intolerance. Representative of the posts was this one:

I did some volunteer work one summer, helping a New Jersey school district get some of it’s classrooms repainted in one of its worst schools, in terms of the physical conditions (I know not what academic standing the school had then or has now).

One of the areas being repainted included a hallway used by classes in 3rd, 4th and 5th grades. Someone decided to have some classic American literature, in the form of poems, written along the hallway in the area between the tops of the doors and the ceiling.

At first everything went fine. Then the principal came by to have a look and help out. After looking at the poems, he said he liked the idea but the text of two of the poems (by Walt Whitman I believe) would have to be changed to edit out references in them to guns.

I was appalled, and told those in charge of the volunteers that I thought changing the words of classic Whitman poems to please any modern sentiments about guns was not an academic exercise but a political one. What got me even madder - and meant I’d never work with that bunch again, was that the leaders of the volunteers agreed with the principal, and apologized for not having thought of changing Whitman’s poem’s themselves. That made them bigger idiots than the principal in my mind. I went to find the principle and rebuke him personally, but he’d already departed.

Well, lets just get rid of the military altogether.

Because the "educators" will not be "worried that some people may feel an “uneasiness,” oh no.

They will be "feeling" total mindless panic as ISIS, the Chicoms or the Russian army are marching in the street, in front of their schools...

looking for THEM.

11 days before the deer opener? Plenty of the high school kids won’t be firing blanks.
