Couple fined for refusing to host same-sex wedding on their farm
New York Post ^ | 11/10/2014 | Andrea Peyser

Cynthia and Robert Gifford are caught in a same-sex nightmare. They’ve been forced to defend themselves against claims that they’re lesbian-hating homophobes.

“We respect and care for everyone!’’ Cynthia Gifford told me. “We had an openly gay man working for us this past season,’’ she said.

“We’ve had a woman who’s transitioning to be a man. We don’t discriminate against anyone.’’

But the government of the state of New York sees things differently. The Giffords, who own the bucolic Liberty Ridge Farm in upstate New York, were ordered to pay a total of $13,000 — a $10,000 fine to the state and another $1,500 to each member of a lesbian couple to compensate them for “mental anguish.’’ All because the Giffords, devout Christians, refused to hold a same-sex wedding ceremony on the property in which they live, work and have raised a daughter, 17, and a son, 21.

Isn’t it illegal to tape a conversation without the knowledge of the other party?

Regardless, the state law is unconstitutional if it does not support the First Amendment.

1) designate your business as a “private club”.
2) “applications” must be filled out and signed.

Whose farm is it? Obviously, it belongs to the government of New York. If this isn’t a perfect example of how property rights and social issues intersect, I don’t know what is. New York just forcibly took this property for a public purpose (a perverted one, at that), and then made the “owners” pay.

This Tyranny must soon end. The Homosexual Mafia demands that government force violation of ones religious conscience before GOD is no less Tyranny than the crowns demands placed on the Founding Fathers. It's time to start publicly running Tyrant Judges and so called Special Boards out of town on a rail. Throw them out of office if it has to be done so physically. Throw such as these out of Christian Churches leadership as well starting with pastors and positions in the church that as written by Paul demand morality. Homosexuality the practicing {acting upon it} is an abomination before GOD. We As Free Citizens Do Not Have To Bow To Nor Accept This Form Of Tyranny.

Marriage throughout mans recorded history has been a religious rite ordained of GOD our Creator between a man and a woman. Obedience to government demands on this issue is not mandatory before GOD nor should it be accepted by We The People.

To use a wedding to promote hostility is not what real marriage is about.

The only thing "real" about this charade is the hostility that motivates it.

Exactly. If they really cared about just the act of getting married they would want a ceremony filled with and performed by like-minded people. But the fact is, happiness is not their main goal. Their main goal is proving they are right. And the most important target audience is themselves. They hate themselves for what they are so they take that hatred out into the world and use it as a weapon against those who are not filled with self-loathing.

Their every act proves they are filled with self-hate and self-loathing. In that sense they remind me of the palestinians.

recording telephone conversations without your knowledge and permission is against the law

It's legal in NYS, as long as one participant in the conversation knows about it. That's actually a good law that protects normal people as well as scheming homo-fascists.

Andrea Peyser is kind of a bellwether RINO—a pro-abort New York State Republican. If she's against the Gaystapo on this one, I wouldn't be surprised if popular revulsion against it is becoming significant.

Astorino was supposed to lose by 23 percent against Baby Cuomo in the New York governor's race. That was after the Republican state senate leadership endorsed Cuomo and cost Astorino Long Island—in return for a Cuomo agreement not to campaign against Long Island Republican state senators. Astorino, running a pretty low-key campaign, lost by only 13 percent and kicked Cuomo's butt everywhere but a couple of big cities, notably New York (Vote Fraud on-the-Hudson).

This is the time to push back everywhere.

Start talking about the mechanics of what queer men do to each other physically. That shuts them up every time.

The legal goal is to chip away at the idea of what constitutes a “public accommodation”. The ultimate prize is the legal conclusion that churches are public accommodations, and must, therefore, perform homo weddings. Don’t think it can’t happen. That legal theory is no more absurd than the one that got us Roe v Wade.

Because it’s not the most important event of their life... it’s a show designed to hurt people who want to participate in the life of Christ.

Your post sounds wonderful — in theory. So are you starting a legal fund to pay for all this legal work?

Organized and well-funded pitbulls vs. an undefended family/business.

They will win every time, until the other side marshals the will and the money to fight back.

Umm just maybe the openly gay man who is no longer working there was a plant? A disgruntled employer? He found out that this farm was Christian and decided to do something about it therefore Butch and Miss Butchess tried to wed there and upon being denied turned in their paperwork to the powers that be?

This would not be the furthest scenario from the tree. I am not a conspiracist nut but I do some back handed shannigans are going on with a minority group forcing their will on the majority of the people using the majorities laws against them.

But the state of New York, that stole $10,000 from this Christian couple, will have God’s punishment meted out in full measure.

...to be honest, I highly doubt that the state of New York, or any other state, loses any sleep over fear of divine retribution...
