The DU thread entitled:
“We Just Lost Maryland. F*cking Maryland.”

That thread said it all.

This and the GOP win in Illinois are earth shattering.

Hogan is a RINO and I’m not surprised he pulled it off.

I guess people were tired of another black guy.

Isn’t it obvious? Candidate Brown is black; therefore his loss is solely due to RACISM! < /sarc >

Don’t expect much here. DPRM legislature does not cooperate w/repub govs. Even though he campaigned on cutting taxes, he can’t actually do that unilaterally as governor.

It’s still nice a repub won but it’s basically a pyrrhic victory.

I think this will put a damper on anyone talking about a Senate run for Chewbacca.

He’s as liberal as the rest of them.

But I doubt his business background will fly with the Democratic run legislature there.

I’m not sure “pyrrhic” is an accurate descriptor. What terrible loss have the Republicans suffered to win this seat?

I know no one wants others this today, but all those governors races we won? Thank Chriis Christie. He is not what we want in 2016, but I don’t think too many people could have accomplished what he did with the RGA.

You’re right. Maybe hollow-victory is better for what I’m thinking.

As a former resident of the beautiful (except for Baltimore) state of Maryland, I feel I have lost more than the Democrats in this smashing Hogan win.

For years I have been dining out on my lurid tales of Baltimore Voter Fraud, where the same wonderful people have been voting since 1789, and where Edgar Allan Poe was registered until just a year ago. No more (or should I say "Evermore?"). WTF happened? Nancy Pelosi's dear olde dad Tom D'Allesandro could have delivered at least 103% for the Democrat, thereby winning the whole state.

O I am even more dismayed, distraught almost, by the failure of the city's many, many African-American pastors to deliver the vote. What the hell do the Democrats pay them for, anyway? (Get Sharpton and Soetoro on this immediately!) Did the church vans (federally supplied) all run out of gas? Did Obama fail to deliver street money? Rumors have reached me that many Baltimore African-Americans were so weakened by the new Michelle School Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner Programs and EBT Healthy Eating initiatives that they were unable to vote more than once, some skipping the process entirely! For shame! Michelle showed up wif Buckets'o'KFC, but too late!

I do not mean to let Maryland's huge illegal alien but duly registered population off the hook. ¿Donde estaron? Do these people realize what they have done to my social life?

I am torn, Dennis, torn I tell you. On the one hand I rejoice in a "Republican" (whatever TF that means nowadays) victory anywhere. But where exactly am I expected to have dinner?

Is this the same Larry Hogan that was the County Executive of PG County circa 1990?

Well, I’m trying to find a couple of Freepers, who just a while ago said they’d be “in shock” and “gobsmacked”, if Maryland elected a Republican governor :-)
