The gathering risks of climate change are so profound they could stall or even reverse generations of progress against poverty and hunger if greenhouse emissions continue at a runaway pace, according to a major new United Nations report.
Despite rising efforts in many countries to tackle the problem, the overall global situation is growing more acute as developing countries join the West in burning huge amounts of fossil fuels, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change said here on Sunday.
Failure to reduce emissions, the group of scientists and other experts found, could threaten society with food shortages, refugee crises, the flooding of major cities and entire island nations, mass extinction of plants and animals, and a climate so drastically altered it might become dangerous for people to work or play outside during the hottest times of the year.

It just really irks to no end to see this story still being promoted with the immediacy of imminent catastrophe it certainly is not, nor will ever be. When has the UN ever resolved a problem or facilitated a solution to any degree of permanency? And they want to be in charge of the weather. It's like Obama wanting to be President. Just a bunch of phony stuff all around.

Hey you pieces of $hit at the UN. If you want to do something productive why don’t you concentrate on stopping ISIS from beheading and murdering hundreds of thousands of women and children in the Middle East.
They need to reduce the emissions of Hot Air from that bastion of Truth and Justice - the United Nations.
The effects will be dire as far as they’re concerned,but not from global warming. Their goal of having the world run by communist dictators might not be realized.
Hey, wait a minute, I thought that global warming was supposed to HELP the hunger problem?!? It’s better for crop production, right?. It’s the impending ice age that hurts the hungry (women and children worse).
