Ex-CBS reporter: Government agency bugged my computer
NY Post ^ | October 27, 2014 | Kyle Smith and Bruce Golding

Posted on 10/27/2014 6:39:08 AM PDT by detective

A former CBS News reporter who quit the network over claims it kills stories that put President Obama in a bad light says she was spied on by a “government-related entity” that planted classified documents on her computer.

In her new memoir, Sharyl Attkisson says a source who arranged to have her laptop checked for spyware in 2013 was “shocked” and “flabbergasted” at what the analysis revealed.

A special prosecutor needs to be appointed to get to the bottom of this.

Good luck, and happy hunting.

If the administration did this to her, you know they did it to Andrew Breitbart and Michael Hastings and they're dead. Coincidence?

It's been out there for longer than that thread, actually...

http://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3022121/posts

I really don't get how Freepers, of all people, are treating this like it's new news... and all the sudden NOW is the time to start the righteous rage... the angry mob should have burned down the White House a long time ago...

...but hey, better late than never?

By the way... check out Michelle Malkin's new video, Rocky Mountain Heist... Structures need to be set on fire in Colorado... I suggest we act now... not in late 2016... but what do I know... people call me an idiot and a troll because I point out that they were not paying attention in class back in May of 2013.

FYI, just registered. Didn’t General Petraias’ mistress’ computer get taken and was found to have “classified” material on it. That was within 2-3 weeks of the Bengahzi terror attacks. I would guess it was also placed there to silence General Petraias.

We think alike I plucked the same stuff from the link:

“Attkisson says her source — identified only as “Number One” — told her the spying was most likely not court-authorized because it went on far longer than most legal taps.

But the most shocking finding, she says, was the discovery of three classified documents that Number One told her were “buried deep in your operating system. In a place that, unless you’re a some kind of computer whiz specialist, you wouldn’t even know exists.”

“They probably planted them to be able to accuse you of having classified documents if they ever needed to do that at some point,” Number One added.

In her book, Attkisson says CBS lost interest in her coverage of the deadly attack on the US Embassy in Benghazi, Libya, and killed her stories of the federal “Fast and Furious” gun-running scandal.

Both CBS and the White House declined to comment.”

“really don't get how Freepers, of all people, are treating this like it's new news... and all the sudden NOW is the time to start the righteous rage”

It did not happen today. But the story is still unfolding and there is still a great deal of information yet to be obtained.

There has been no explanation of which government agency did it. No explanation of who authorized it. No explanation of how many other American citizens have also been spied on in this way.

If you think this entire problem ended in 2013 and it is not still an on going issue then you might think it is old news.

The people who did this and who continue to abuse power and illegally target citizens are still in power. It is not old news. It is important and relevant today.

See she had a Mac. So shut it!

Yup! But here is the operative part of your citation, IMHO:
"an inspection revealed that an extra fiber-optics line had been installed in Attkisson’s home without her knowledge."
Hey, look - if they resort to breaking in to your house and connecting an extra line to your router (or directly to your computer, doesn’t say), what can’t they put on whatever computer you have?!!!!!

If you think this entire problem ended in 2013 and it is not still an on going issue then you might think it is old news.

It started well before 2013... and no matter what anyone says, will be ONGOING... because the millisecond this was released all of Washington D.C. should have been set on fire. Never happened.

I am glad everyone is all pissed off now, at least... and glad the timing is a week before an election... but Benghazi was right before an election as well... Fast and Furious... NSA snooping... IRS abuse... it's all there, make hay...

...but nothing happens because nobody cares deeply enough for this republic to take action... real action as in naked, upside-down crucifixions held on the 50 yard line at halftime during Monday night football type action.

Instead, the GOPe just rolls out another God-damned Bush to run for president... or some Shamnesty establishment type to lead the House or Senate or whatever. You know what? Ping me when taxpayers start dressing down their elected representatives in public, as in getting in their faces to the point where fists start flying and the fear of God is put into the everyday senator making a perpetual six-figure salary for doing NOTHING to protect the republic...

Anything short of direct confrontation (at this point) is coy and sickeningly polite garbage.

I yield back the balance of my time.

This incident directly ties into a post I made earlier this past week regarding a policeman who was arrested on charges of "child pornography" because GOOGLE reported to the "authorities" that he had purportedly downloaded ONE image. This was the story:

""GOOGLE NOTIFIED the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children that someone had UPLOADED AN IMAGE of child pornography in June."

*A member on FR said the following in response to this news:

"Few things have disgusted me as much as the child porn cases I helped prosecute."

This was my response to the news that GOOGLE had contacted the "authorities" and to the post above:

"I do not approve of or in anyway condone the activity the officer is accused of but the DETAILS of the case in question highlighted above in CAPS raises some genuine legal and privacy concerns:

1) Citizens of the USA are supposed to be "innocent until PROVEN guilty".

2) The alphabet agencies (CIA, NSA, FBI, etc...) have demanded that internet providers give them the password and account log-on information for all of their customers computers and e-mail accounts "for national security reasons" in order that these agencies can have access to that information under threats of prosecution and more should the internet providers decline their "request". Consequently, the internet providers have routinely acquiesced and given them that information and it is a fact that these agencies are screening and storing everything the citizens of the United States e-mail or view.

3)This then begs THE question:

Since, these alphabet agencies now have direct access to our computers, and our e-mails; is it not possible if they do not like your politics, your faith, your... "fill in the blank" because you pose a direct or indirect threat to them, their boss, or to their policies, for any one of them to have one of their highly proficient agency computer people clandestinely, "back-door" hack your computer without your knowing it and set up a secret folder that you don't even know about and download child pornography or anything that would destroy your reputation, your life, your job and end up getting you thrown into prison, into it; and then have a company like Google or other internet provider contact the authorities and alert them to the "fact" of what you have been downloading? Or the police in your area could receive an anonymous call from a "concerned citizen" alerting them to the "fact" that they had seen child porn or "fill in the blank" on your computer and that they should investigate you? Ultimately leading to the police or FBI etc swarming your home and confiscating your computers, notebooks, hard drives, smartphones, etc containing damnable "evidence" (totally unbeknownst to you) which will ultimately result in your arrest, trial, conviction and imprisonment? The answer it a resounding "yes"!

You could say "I didn't do this", you could make all kinds of assertions that you would NEVER download child pornography, plans on how to make a bomb or whatever you have been charged with which will destroy you and end up landing you in prison. You could say there has been a "mistake", all to no avail because at trial the prosecuting attorney will ask you: "Is this your computer (notebook, or smartphone)?" And the only answer you can give, on pain of perjury, is to answer "yes". Then he will proceed to ask you "did you download this material?" You can say "no I didn't" until you are blue in the face because the prosecuting attorney will simply turn to the jury and calmly assert: "Ladies and gentlemen of the jury, the witness has admitted that this is his computer (notebook or smartphone)"; "in spite of his protestations to the contrary the court has proven that he was at home on the day this material was downloaded and the court has also proven that this reprehensible material was found on his computer's hard drive (in a "secret file" hidden behind a firewall) and accessed by the defendant. Here are the terrible pictures of what he downloaded for all of you to see."

"Seeing is believing and here is the proof of his crime!" "Members of the jury; the facts are evident and there is only one verdict that you can render and that is 'guilty as charged'."

The jury will examine the "evidence", see the photos and come to the verdict that you are "guilty as charged". The court will then proceed to sentence you for your "crimes" and the authorities will then cart you off to prison for a very long time.

Given everything we have learned about our own government and what the alphabet agencies have been, and are up to concerning access to our computers, our e-mail accounts and what these agencies are clearly capable of I only have one question:

Is the above scenario possible and could it happen to ANYONE living in America who has access to the internet and uses a computer, notebook or "smartphone" that someone, anyone in "authority" has a problem with? We all know the answer to that question and sadly that answer is absolutely "yes"."

The genuine concerns and scenario I had raised in my above post have been confirmed by the revelation that this CBS reporter's computer was indeed "hacked" and information was systematically audited, altered, removed, replaced and information was ADDED by someone or a group of individuals within our own government without her knowledge or permission because she was seeking the truth; trying to expose evil within "Lord Obamessiah's" corrupt administration and therefore viewed as a direct threat to both him and the administration: Someone who had to be "dealt with".

Just imagine what would have happened if the individuals who had professionally and clandestinely hacked her computer had also downloaded child porn onto her computer hard drive in order to totally discredit her; and those images/material had been "found" once they began checking her hard drive?

I’m still waiting for you to explain the difference (as you perceive it) between voter fraud and election fraud.

As I define it,

Voter fraud is Joe Blow (D) goes to the polls at precinct 1 and votes, then moves to precinct 2 and votes again, then on to precinct 3 and again votes. Voter Jane Doe votes by mail and then goes and votes at her local precinct. John Doe votes for himself and for his deceased parents, uncle and aunt. Jose Doe, Josip Doe, Djong Do all vote having registered with voter voter but are not citizens and are not qualified to do so. All voter fraud. This is retail, small potato stuff that does add up

Election fraud is the people at the precinct or counting location manipulate the voting machine into altering the count of the machines to register any votes by legitimate voters for Republican candidates as Democrat candidates, doubling votes for favored candidates, losing votes deliberately, blocking legitimate votes from being counted, creating votes from nothing. Precincts in which the turnout is 150% of the population with the vote being 100% for one Democrat candidate, a statistical impossibility. All election fraud. Wholesale fraud capable of swinging states.
