On October 23, USMC Lance Corporal Sean P. Neal died in Baghdad. He was the second Marine to die in October in the fight against ISIS.

Neal was from Riverside, California. He joined the Marines in 2013.

According to the Marine Corps Times, Neal was one of approximately 2,300 Marines assigned to "the crisis response unit for US Central Command." He was supporting efforts to combat ISIS when he was died.

Precise details surrounding his death have not been released, but the DOD does say it was a "noncombat incident."

"non combat".....yeh...that means he was unarmed.

No matter what he was doing....that's boots on the ground and they should be armed.

No, that means it wasn't due to hostile fire.
In a combat zone, every Marine is issued a weapon since every Marine (cooks, clerks, etc.) may be needed to act as a rifleman.

I know what it means. I also have my doubts. There’s a truth factor in this administration. And so far....”truth” is batting “0”.

Actually, there's no truth factor in this administration at all.
Nevertheless, I trust the Marine Corps remains as unaffected by that as best they can.

"In a combat zone, every Marine is issued a weapon."

Are you sure that's the policy in this Obamanation? I suspect you're wrong, and I'll also bet that he wasn't allowed to carry it, loaded, wherever he was when this "non-combat incident" occurred. Non combat probably means that he wasn't fighting, they were.

No, that would still be a combat death (like a sniper) ... and I stand by my comment ... weapons issued to all.

I am sorry for this young man. I am sorry for his family.

We aren’t hearing much about the status of the embassy in Baghdad.

There are a lot of deaths that don’t come from enemy action. The equipment is inherently dangerous and there are frequent accidents. I have been told by my son and his Marine friends and stepbrothers about training accidents they have witnessed that either resulted in deaths or could have done. A Marine colonel I dated told me that some of our few losses during the first Iraq war were of young men who got killed in vehicle accidents, not from enemy fire.

I don’t believe one single thing this administration says—if the White House announced that the sun comes up in the East, I’d question it. But I can believe that a boy might be killed without enemy involvement.

Anyone know if guarding the embassy what their rules of engagement are? I’m sure the enemy knows. Ask before you return fire?

Their job is so dangerous. And so many die while on leave at home on motorcycles.

The embassy is fine. Although it does take sniper fire infrequently I don’t think this Marine was at the embassy. I haven’t heard anything.

Wasn't meant to be funny. I'm making a comment about our Commander in Chief's statements.
