Bale Calls Moses 'Schizophrenic,' 'Barbaric'

Christian Bale has some novel interpretations of Moses, whom he portrays in the upcoming "Exodus: God and Kings."

"I think the man was likely schizophrenic and was one of the most barbaric individuals that I ever read about in my life," Bale said.

Hard on the heels of Noah, which took great liberties with the biblical tale, Exodus is drawing criticism from Christian websites.

We are faced with a difficult choice here. Should we believe the Torah's account of Moses, beloved of G-d, or that of a liberal mortal ACTOR?

Hmmm.

G-d was impressed with Moses' humility and kindness. Though raised to be a prince, he felt the pain of the Jewish slaves. These qualities were necessary were he to be the leader of the Jewish people and lead them out of a 400 year stint of slavery, put up with their anticipated squabbles and problems of the first freedom any had experienced, and finally lead them to the land foretold to be theirs. I don't think that G-d is so easy to impress for such an important job. Would He have chosen someone "schizophrenic and barbaric"? Hardly!

Bale would benefit were he to put down the human-written scripts for a while and take up the reading of the Torah. Perhaps he would come to appreciate the sheer magnitude of Moses' greatness.

Poor deluded product of a liberal upbringing. You almost have to feel sorry for him, despite his monetary success.

“Noah”: A Biblical Tale Rewritten to Push an Agenda

Since its release in early 2014, the big-budget movie “Noah” has caused controversy for not being biblically accurate. While that is certainly the case, the movie does more than take liberties with the Bible: “Noah” pushes messages that have nothing to do with the Bible. These messages are actually political and come directly from the world elite. The primary message? Humanity needs to be cleansed … again.

What you described is not in the Bible.

Perfectly normal behavior then. OK.

Come on Christians produce movies that bring upon the masses the fear of God. Give them movies that will bring them into the presence of The God who is angry with sinners every day, their God, the one they answer to. Make real movies keeping tightly to the Biblical narrative. These movies should be powerful enough to bring people to their knees.

“I think 101M in this age is a good showing in theater.”

Not when your film cost $125,000,000.00 to produce.

freeonefrom said:

“Russell Crowe stars as Noah in the film inspired by the epic story of courage, sacrifice and hope. Directed by visionary filmmaker Darren Aronofsky (c) Paramount”

If you’re a “visionary” (this is just another word for glorified-overrated-liberal filmmaker) director, and you’re trying to tap into the Christian market, you’d better have your ducks in a row when it come to Biblical accounts and men and women in Scripture.

Aronofsky’s a hack in regards to the Noah film. He deliberately rewrote this Biblical account and typically exploited it in order to sell an environmental-bad humans-evil Noah fable. Obviously, Christians were not amused.

“...can enhance an actor’s capabilities.”

That’s complete rubbish. As the great Sir Laurence Olivier once stated in regards to Dustin Hoffman’s “technique” in getting into character during the filming of Marathon Man,

“Why don’t you try acting”

Besides, locusts and wild honey are both edible, as are a lot of other things in the wilderness that we don’t see on the usual American table.

Nothing crazy about it.

That’s right. What did Jesus say about a clean, but empty house? Nothing good.

Had just watched the mini-series “The Red Tent” about the daugther of Jacob, Dinah. Also had watched the presentation of the “Women of the Bible” that came with it. At least the former although there is one line in the Holy Bible about her birth, the rest is from the book which I have.
