WASHINGTON -- Nina Pham, the Dallas nurse being treated at the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland, is now Ebola-free and will be discharged, CBS News reports.

She contracted the virus after treating Thomas Eric Duncan, who died from the disease, at a hospital in Dallas. A second nurse who also developed Ebola after treating Duncan has also recovered from the virus.

NIH officials are expected to make a statement at 11:30 a.m.

She did.

I’m wondering how other people are so arrogant and selfish to just turn themselves loose to ride subways, shop and buy soup. My husba d and I were discussing quarantine scenarios. He said he would go out and buy groceries if we had no food in the house rather than order online.

SMH

Google Translated for those of us who don't read Vietnamese:

We thank God more! Well ask God and St. Mary and the bar for all the ebola disease.

I agree, and we are all thankful that Ms. Pham has recovered, everyone benefits from those who choose to nurse the sick.

“Yeah, Im sure Duncan’s “estate” and “family members” will pick up the tab”

Not a chance! They will continue “legal action” with the notion that somehow because he was Black, he didn’t get first-rate care. No matter that he came here and spread a disease he knew he had before he left Nigeria.

Sure, one problem would be bringing things like food in. Guess you’d have to have a good neighbor to pick up online orders from you (I sure hope your hubby doesn’t get ebola!). The other problem would be waste.

What do you do with your garbage? Is it OK to just do laundry, use the bathroom and flush? Do we want ebola in our sewage to infect a roach/rat that may infect a pet and eventually a human again? I’d be wearing a gas mask full time to protect me from the bleach smell everywhere in my place!

I meant the nurses were free of charge, not Duncan.

But his family still peeved that it was the only black man that did not survive.

What are you talking about? We heard a Doctor came up with it in NYC just YESTERDAY? And rode the subway. And went bowling. Or were you not paying attention?

What is your point exactly? Do you think she’d prefer to be dead? You sound like a liberal for crying out loud.

A long time ago they said the two nurses were moved tot he other hospitals and that they will not have to pay for their treatment.

I’m curious, though, about Pham’s boyfriend who also contracted.

Ebola free and hundreds of thousands in medical bills.

I understood your point even as it evades most of the people in this forum. You are not saying that Ms. Pham is responsible for paying hundreds of thousands of dollars. Rather, you're pointing out that each individual infection of this virus requires an immense amount of resources. The country can handle it when there are only a handful of cases. Just a few hundred Ebola cases, though, and the healthcare apparatus of the entire nation would be in distress.

I had heard that. I suspect there are many more cases that will be hushed up prior to release at a convenient time after the election. I hate to cite Kremlin-funded Alex Jones, but Drudge did.

Bud? You sound like a guy in a bar trying to prove how tough he is.

My point is, if she has a copay.... so what? You think all medical care should be free?

Yes I have heard of copays. And as a gainfully employed individual she will pay those.

Okay, if cases are being “hushed up”, why wasn’t the guy in NYC yesterday “hushed up”? How would you hush it up? Its impossible to keep ANYTHING hushed up these days with social media.
