Alison Grimes doubles down on a 4-Pinocchio claim
Washington Post Fact Checker ^ | 10/23/2014 | Glenn Kessler

Posted on 10/23/2014 5:35:15 PM PDT by Republican Wildcat

Excuse the fuzzy quality of this ad, but it has not been publicly released by the Grimes campaign. In The Fact Checker’s experience, the most fact-challenged ads are those that fly under the radar, as campaigns hope that reporters don’t notice the content — but voters do.

This particular ad is especially noteworthy because the candidate herself repeats a claim that The Fact Checker has already deemed worthy of Four Pinocchios. Not only does she double down on this falsehood, but she makes another highly questionable assertion as well.

....

Most striking, Grimes puts her own credibility on the line by uttering these recidivist claims herself, rather than relying on an unseen narrator.

We realize that the game of politics is sometimes played rough in Kentucky, but this ad is beyond the pale. Indeed, it is likely the worst ad of a nasty campaign year. Grimes should be ashamed of herself.

LOL, I wonder what sort of deal McConnell made to get such favorable notice from the WaPo; else they would simply have ignored it.

How do you say “pathological lying bitch” in Kentuckyese?

Allison Grimes!

What a mental basketcase. She needs help, for about 20 years, in a padded cell with Al Sharpton.

The Democrats get a compliant Republican Senate Majority Leader starting next year.

The only thing dumber than a Democrat politician is a Democrat voter.

You can say that again - looking at posts on the article and facebook comments you can seem the Grimes supporters arguing that ad not being officially released by the Grimes campaign means the campaign isn’t airing it - I kid you not. They actually are saying that. As the article makes clear that means they didn’t want the opposing campaign or the press to have it and instead let it air without being analyzed first, but they interpret it to mean it was never aired and arguing, therefore, the honesty of the ad doesn’t matter. It’s okay what she says.

Slightly off topic, but Thad Cochran has new ads in MS - telling us how Republicans need to stick together to elect Republicans.......maybe he and his co-conspirators are getting nervous because there's a bunch of us still so mad we spit when we hear his name - he might be part of the message we send to the GOPe/RNC.

It’s tough to pick someone to support in this race. On one side you have a pro Obama hack who will do anything and everything Obama wants. On the other side is someone trying to unseat Mitch McConnell.

Good question - we don't get any info that the rest of the nation gets - it's getting pretty late in the game so I'm not optimistic that he'll be an option or that he will have the momentum if he is allowed. Cochran and his supporters have screwed the pooch on this one.

How can you stand posting a McConnell thread Wildcat, knowing you’ll get a ton of replies from retards that want democrats to win Senate races?

I have yet to see a FReeper post they wanted to see a single Rat in the Senate. IMHO, the Stupid Party totally missed yet another opportunity. I stood on the Mall with a million other AMERICANS and we sang “Amazing Grace”, my favorite song, which I love to sing but I was so choked up and tears streaming down my face I couldn’t so much as croak out a note. In the following days I saw the Brown Shirt Media ignore us. I saw Pelosi accuse us of being racists. In the subsequent years I have seen the GOP attack us and make Rat war on us. Now I have FReepers telling me if I don’t trot right down to the poll with my vote for the GOP I am some kind of traitor? Well, maybe so but in the words of a guy who once lived not far from where I sit, “If this be Treason make the most of it!”

Then you aren't looking close enough. Tons of fools are cheerleading for this partial-birth abortion loving *itch Grimes (and also for the union shill running in Mississippi). Too bad for them, she's made a fool of herself and she's gonna lose, whether they like it or not.

No more conservative challenger ran against McConnell, only a paultard loser who would have been crushed, so the time for whining about his renomination has long since passed.
