IRS notches legal victory in tea party cases
Politico ^ | October 23, 2014 | Rachael Bade

The IRS may have inadvertently figured out how to win its legal battles against aggrieved tea party groups: Give them what they wanted in the first place — tax-exempt status.

That was a major reason a Republican-appointed federal judge on Thursday threw out two lawsuits brought by more than 40 conservative groups seeking remedies for being singled out in the tea party targeting scandal, a victory for the IRS.

When this judge rots in hell, I won’t be sad.

The reality is, this could someday hurt the liberals just as badly or worse. It could hurt Catholics or pro-marriage or pro-free speech groups - every group is on the delaying block because of this.

“Park it for the next administration!”

Idiot judge.

I’d think they’d be entitled to damages as well as NP status, so I’m not understanding the judge’s actions.

The case should go forward...

I wonder if Zero had his NSA dig up some dirt on this judge and blackmail him for his decision just like they did John Roberts, Boehner and the lot of them.

Appointed to federal bench by Bush I, elevated to this slot by Bush II, probably waiting a SCOTUS appointment from 3rd idiot “Jeb” who is campaigning under a clandestine CORE campaign curriculum as exemplified in the idiot’s latest political mailing.

It is becoming apparent that we can no longer use the system to reform the system. :(

And we still have an IRS? Why? Where are our representatives? Are there any protections for American Citizens? A government of the people?

After the IRS conspired to alter the outcome of an American election, attacked honest law abiding citizens, Congress is all but silent. Wow! Just F’n wow!

Let’s be real. The Feral courts see the American people as their enemy. Hey! The Feral “judges” are U.S. Government employees just like their comrades at the IRS. Americans don’t stand a chance in our so called “courts” anymore. The government has all of us by the short hairs.

"It is becoming apparent that we can no longer use the system to reform the system. :("

Indeed. When enough people no longer have faith that reform can be obtained from within the system and when a critical mass of illegals who have no allegiance to the US have been imported by Obama, then the fate of the US will be the same as the former Yugoslavia or worse.

“ruling that both were essentially moot now that the IRS granted the groups their tax-exempt status that had been held up for years.”

“a President George W. Bush-appointee, also said individual IRS officials could not be fined in their individual capacity for allowing such treatment because it could hurt future tax enforcement.”

This is just wrong. There is no law that the government
can be held accountable to. With this mindset, the federal
government doesn’t have to to abide to any law what so ever.
This is not a republic any more, this is a damned Oligarchy.
The coup is complete and this judge is just another nail in the
coffin. Thanks George.

“I fail to see how this was a victory for the IRS. They gave the tax exempt status to get out of the case.”

Let me help you out here. You see this sets the precedent
that denying is just delaying indefinitely. Now they can do
it again and all they have to do is delay the trial until
after the election then grant the tax exempt status and
they are off the hook. No one was held accountable and as
far as this ignorant judge is concerned no harm done.
Victory? The IRS can disenfranchise and deny voters their
first amendment right at will, well at least delay it.

kinda like somebody robs you at gunpoint, gets caught by the cops and gives you the money back but never goes to court for the robbery since you got your money back...
