I think he was self quarantined when the fever and nausea started....and called for help....tomorrow they will know, as e bola test will be complete sometime during the night.

“why was this guy so arrogant he didn’t self-quarantine?”

Doctors and pilots often think they are bullet-proof.

When dealing in life-and-death, it’s likely a requirement.

Why do they even need doctors there? Ship them the meds and have THEIR medical personnel administer the drugs and monitor them and their labs. Have American docs see them via Skype. I heard that’s how we’re going to be seen by our own doctors now, thanks to 0bamacare, via Skype. If it’s good enough for us, it should be good enough for therm. I just don’t understand what a doctor can do for someone with a virus.

Meanwhile, the CDC’s Ebola plane landed in Dakar a couple of hours ago, likely to bring yet another Ebola-Infected person back to the US.

So has this guy come in contact with anyone else since he has been back from Guinea?

He lives with his fiance, so it's quite possible that she was exposed to bodily fluids. That's almost a guaranteed positive "contact".

I someone rationalize on CNN that because the docs of Doctors without Borders work so hard and are under-paid, they should not have to go through trouble of an enforced quarantine here or stay in the west African country until they are clear.

The news anchor just let that go.

Fine, this Doc wanted to go to whatever hellhole to help people and then has little concern for the $hit he brings back with him? Are these people too smart for their own good? Damn them...

I cannot believe a doctor would be so careless.

This guy needed to go bowling just like Nancy needed a bowl of soup.

Heavy drinkers, smokers, and lovers of crappy food.

You can tell a good nurse by how huge her butt is.

CNN contacted the two bowling alleys and they had not heard of this news until that news agency contacted them.

“Bowling for Ebola in Brooklyn,” sounds like a lib movie.

After being told that the representative for the doctor’s neighborhood, Levin (IIRC) said that the CDC “is on top” of the matter and they have learned from Texas Health Presbyterian.

Isn’t it ironic that the doctor works for Columbia Presbyterian Hospital.

He has not returned to work since he returned 10 days ago. His a apartment is blocked off ( he shares it on a floor with others) and his girlfriend is in isolation.

Two test have been done including one by the CDC. They are expecting results 12 hours from now.

On the bright side, when it shortly becomes time to quarantine all of New Yawk City, all we need to do is blow the bridges and tunnels.

On the other hand, for the good of America that should have been done years ago.

Apparently, he was going about his daily life and “self-monitoring”. When his fever spiked, he then quarantined himself.

There is a world of difference between “self-monitoring” and “self-quarantining”, the latter of which other doctors returning from treating Ebola patients have done (e.g. the doctor from Tennessee). If these reports are true, this is just so irresponsible.

I am thinking the first test turned up positive, but they are waiting for CDC to confirm that.
