With his blood-covered arms sticking out through the bars of his prison cell, Tiago Henrique Gomes da Rocha has admitted to murdering at least 39 people - including 16 women as well as homeless people and transvestites.

The 26-year-old Brazilian serial killer, whose wrists were covered in his own blood after he attempted to slash them with a broken light bulb, has claimed he became a murderer because he was sexually abused as a child.

His nine-month random killing spree in Goiania, central Brazil, ended last week when he was arrested following a massive police manhunt.

Wow, he killed some beautiful young women. I expected him to look like a monster, but was not totally shocked that he looked “normal”.

Let him kill himself and go directly to Hell where he belongs. /sorry, not very Christian of me, but I can’t help it in this case. Sigh.

What kind of bulb did he use? I hope it was one of the new-fangled ones we are told we have to have.

Heavens no. That is the easy way out. He is 26 years old and he has plenty of years to suffer in isolation and hopefully extreme pain.

An Iron Maiden treatment along with many years of creative punishment should help him reflect on his evil.

Unlike the black guy they caught in the US who has at least seven on his tab, this guy isn’t all that crazy looking. I could see how he could have gotten close to many of these women... kind of like Ted Bundy.

Good-looking serial killers are the most dangerous kind, as with Ted Bundy.

Meanwhile it was also revealed yesterday that Da Rocha speed reads books from back to front.

I'm sure this is relevant somehow ...

Yes, that one still baffles me. He was nice looking and very intelligent. I don't know much about his childhood, but something went wrong...whether it was a defect from the beginning or somewhere along the way he got mis-wired.

has claimed he became a murderer because he was sexually abused as a child.

As a male they will hang him with a short rope. Switch genders and (s)he would have a city named after her

Capital punishment is a long unused form of punishment in Brazil, last reported in 1876, not having been officially used since the proclamation of the Republic in 1889. Although virtually abolished, it is still possible during wartime, according to the Article 5, XLVII, “a”, of the Federal Constitution.

Brazil should get with Peru to put him in a cell with Van der Sloot. Two birds, one stone.
