Vulnerable senator runs from Obama: 'If you're mad at Obama, he'll be gone in two years'

Sen. Mark Begich, D-Alaska, is ratcheting up his anti-White House rhetoric, seeking to put more distance between himself and President Obama’s high disapproval rating in his state.

“I think people are disappointed with the president and frustrated,” Begich said in a Politico report published Sunday.

“I’m making sure people understand that if you are mad at Obama, he will be gone in two. If you care about Alaska, I’m here for six. When I tell people that, I remind them, they get it,” he added.

Begich is scrambling to fend of his Republican challenger, former Attorney General Dan Sullivan.

Sullivan currently leads Begich in the polls 47 percent to 42.6 percent, according to the RealClearPolitics weighted average.

Like President Obama, Begich has struggled to win over women voters in Alaska, acknowledging recently that his campaign needs to find a way to clear this “hurdle.”

And like vulnerable incumbent Sen. Mark Udall, D-Colo., Begich has also resorted to invoking the so-called “war on women,” regularly accusing his Republican opponents of being anti-woman.

Obviously, this is a charge that the Sullivan campaign rejects.

“Mark Begich continues to run the same tired ‘war on women’ campaign straight out of Harry Reid’s playbook, but he can’t run from his failed record in Washington, D.C.,” Sullivan spokesman Thomas Reiker said.

The Alaska senator joins several Democratic lawmakers who have made it a point during this election cycle to disassociate themselves from the White House brand, assuring voters that they’re nothing like President Obama.

Begich got elected because the Democrats lied about GOP Sen. Ted Stevens having taken a gift from a builder who remodeled his house. After Begich was wrongfully elected, Ted Stevens died, and soon after his death, the commitee investigating the Democrat charges exonerated Stevens, a travesty writ large.

Did the GOP defend Stevens when Begich stole that Republican senate seat? Of course not. He was a conservative, you see.

Shame on the voters of AK if they re-elect the cheater, Begich, who should not have been in the Senate at all.

I actually saw a Liberal diatribe on MSNBC that was running from Obama so hard it actually claimed Obama’s election to the Presidency was actually Bush’s fault, as Bush was such a terrible President, he made Obama look good in comparison.

Why? Even if he says he will kill everyone of Obama’s policies, you know he is lying. He aided and abetted the implementation of them. Why should he kill them? Why do you want to believe a liar?

NO Democrat can run from Obama. He is them and they are he. They supported him, campaigned for him and voted for him. It is not his incompetence, it his ideology. Of which they all partake. It’s the party, stupid.

Even if a given Democrat didn’t go into the bank, he was still driving the getaway car.

Hang them. Hang them all and from the same tree....so to speak.

Remember Photo Radar in Anch back around 97. It got Mark kicked outta politics, he was behind those cameras everybody in anch was shooting out 7 am on their way to work, ha.

Dems are spending big time in Ak. I get calls every other day from pollsters who are trying to convince me to vote for Mark, ha ha. I have a good time with them. I always tell them about photo radar, (Mark's Big Baby) and how Mark's office people always claim it was the only mistake Mark ever made, ha ha. I keep telling them poll people it's all ready history for Mark; big waste of money for the dems.

Ya know Mark got a brother, Nick; good guy; I've been to is house and heard his future for Alaska, the guy is like ole Wally HIckel. I think he's a libertarian though. The Repubs would be wise to work things out with Nick Begich and get him on board, no joke.

Alaskans like family dynasties in politics; they don't care much about corruption, as every last one of them are crooks. Look at ole Donny Young, Alaskans just luv him to death.

Maybe the President is out in two years, but Harry Reid has no fixed expiration date. He has to go.

“. . . and I’ll vote the the same type of policies he has or wants to implement.”
