CDC officials said last week that Vinson had been told to avoid public transportation, including commercial airlines, while monitoring herself for symptoms. CDC director Dr. Thomas Frieden said her trip to Ohio, which began before fellow nurse Nina Pham had been diagnosed with Ebola, violated that restrictio

If you have had direct, recurring contact with an Ebola patient and you think that you are good-to-go on a plane trip then you may be legally free to do so, but you are criminally stupid.

I doubt she owns a home but if she does her home owners insurance can cover economic loss to that bridal shop. But they will hire their own attorney not Billy Martin.

Obama’s CDC is calling a black woman a liar. Bunch of racists.

Gosh, I don’t know. The CDC was down playing the risk. I totally believe they weren’t restricting those who worked with Ebola. They thought their precautions kept the staff safe, or they would’ve had better ones.

It appears Amber lives in an apartment. But she might have rental insurance to cover lawsuits related to her bridezilla jaunt.

She’s a nurse. She should have used her own professional judgement. The CDC failed and she of all people knows that. She put her own personal plans ahead of putting dozens of people at risk of exposure. Now she’s lawyered up. She knows she acted recklessly.

You forget Noamie that you are a follower of Free Republic.
This means you are better informed than a good portion of people in the US. If she only followed the Obama News Networks, she new little or nothing about what was going on with Ebola.

All it will take is for one other nurse to have it in writing or a voicemail that they were requested not to travel.

Ambers family is in complete denial that she may have done something wrong

Article says she’s retaining a “high profile attorney”. A nurse does not have the cash to retain such an attorney to DEFEND her from lawsuits. The lawyer (working on contingency, I assume) is for MAKING lawsuits.

I do not disagree with what you've written, but honestly, for the good of all mankind, wouldn't you have just stayed home? I am not an Ebola pro, but even I know enough to cancel all of my travel plans for a bit.

We do not actually know that the CDC downplayed - or even overplayed - the risk to the staff at the hospital. There is currently a lot of conflicting reports and a whole bunch of CDC people trying to cover their asses. You know?

I do know that this government lies to serve their own political purposes and it is a fact that the CDC is incompetent in its handling of Ebola on US soil outside of their headquarters in Atlanta.

I think Billy Martin represented Monica Lewinksy’s mother.

I doubt she had the money to pay his hourly rate.

The CDC was hoping Amber would spread Ebola.

Many, if not most, lawyers offer their services “pro bono” in high profile cases just to gain name recognition.

Not unusual.

Just like Benjamin Crump is attorney for the Ferguson kid.

Another thought: She’s lawyered up because she senses an attempt to throw her under a bus.

I’ll add that at the time she took the trip, she had simply done her job and took better than normal protection from infection.

Nurses have a different perspective on infectious disease than we do. I think there is a strong probability it never occurred to her that she was a risk.
