Pope Francis has closed an assembly of Catholic bishops that revealed deep divisions on how to respond to homosexuality and divorce, saying on Sunday the Church should not be afraid of change and new challenges.
Francis, who has said he wants a more merciful and less rigid Church, made his comments in a sermon to some 70,000 people in St. Peter's Square for the ceremonial closing of a two-week assembly, known as a synod.

Pope Francis is creating a deception which will cause one to squander God’s perfect plan of salvation for them. All this to put the warm and fuzzies on the face of the Roman Catholic Church.
My second comment is why does Pope Francis continually issue vague statements that provide no benefit or moral guidance whatsoever to sincere Catholics but encourage the MSM in their pro homosexuality campaign.
My third comment is why does the Pope refer to homosexuality as a “new thing” when clearly it is not. If Pope Francis is not referring to homosexuality why does he make it sound like he is.
And finally, why would the Pope say “God is not afraid of new things”. There is nothing new to God. It is another vague, almost incoherent statement that benefits no one.
THERE ARE NO “NEW THINGS” TO GOD.
And there is nothing new under the sun. Just “new” to us because we may not have known about it before.

I have to point out this is the first pope so many have used the excuse that they’ve mistranslated what he’s saying.
All these other popes speak foreign languages too. Polish, German, etc. And I do not recall ever, EVER, once seeing all these people say the media’s mistranslating what Pope John Paul or Benedict is “trying” to say. I heard media opining about what they said, but never that the fault lies with the media in confusing what the pope was saying.
This time it is vastly different. Everything controversial is because of mistranslation and misunderstanding, the pope is not saying what’s he’s saying because the media’s getting it wrong.

Our church has been doing a sermon series about “living in exile”. To view life (and our faith) as the Jews lived in Egypt, or Babylon. Life in this world will not be easy, but it can be exciting.
One of the things he has discussed is how we may not be able to change laws that have been passed, or can’t turn back time to the 1950’s, but we CAN make an impact on the fallen world as it is - right now.
So in that sense - God is not afraid of change. That doesn’t mean he LIKES it, or condones it, but God can use ANYTHING to further His will. Now that is not saying that the church needs to embrace the sinful ways of the world - but that it CAN adapt and respond to the new things that society throws at it.
I don’t have the skills or ability to write a novel, but for years, I’ve had the idea for one kicking around: What would it be like if, say, after a nuclear war, there was absolutely no one available to install in the Papacy of the caliber of JPII or Benedict, just some totally unqualified, uneducated mediocrity.

Funny the way I keep seeing different versions of this story written over and over, it’s like the writers all think God will be basing his decisions on judgment day dependent on what current Pope or the Catholic church believes or is currently teaching...
Somehow I don’t think it works that way, but I don’t have personal knowledge yet, so I guess I could be wrong...
It appears, not only is the Constitution a living breathing document that was left open to change with our times, but now organized religion is going to be forced into that same sort of change too.
I Read two articles in past two days, one about Texas pastors being investigated for hate speech while preaching against homosexuality, a second in Idaho, I believe, where two ordained ministers have been told they are going to be forced to perform homosexual weddings under threat of jail time for not doing it.
Would not both of these fall into the category of Congress shall make no law against religion?
It is my view the only reason this ever became an issue was because government got involved in marriage in the first place when they jumped in to start collecting that marriage license fee... To me, Marriage is a religious ceremony, different religions have different rules, period. If the ceremony is a government officiated by a judge, it is a civil union... somehow this all became one and the same.

I remember hearing that In the last days before the coming of Christ we are told that the people will gather around them teachers that say what their itchy ears want to hear. I’m not sure if that’s what’s happening, or if the Catholic church is part of that prophecy, as it doesn’t seem the “people” are quite enamored with what he’s saying...
Sinfulness has always been around. People have always been as decadent. Nothing has changed about human nature. The way we live our lives however, has.
I disagree with your statement that it is a sign of the end times. Ever since the resurrection and ascent to heaven people have been thinking they live in the end times, I find it kind of arrogant to believe we are the lucky, or unlucky (relative) to witness the return of Christ. However, only for a short period of time have we had the power to destroy every life on Earth. Which is when Jesus will intercede. At least, this is my impression of Revelation. Really it is Israel that will be about to be destroyed, which could cause the destruction of everything else. Samson option anyone? Every nation will be an enemy of Israel. Why not destroy everyone at that point?
We do live in a fallen world. But even during the end there will be righteous men and women. Basically revelation was written so long ago, and John was literally seeing the future, he had no words to describe the things he saw. He may have referred to what he thought was the entire Earth, but really may have just been the Middle Eastern area. There is just too much of a gap in time for us to read what he saw and interpret it rationally. The end could come at anytime, most think it is after massive global catastrophes, and billions of deaths. I forget the correct % that many say will die, I think it’s something like 80% of the total human population at the time, but I’m pretty sure it would actually be higher. The end times prophecies really don’t specifically talk about any lands besides the Middle Eastern, and Eastern European areas. Correct me if I am wrong, but I don’t even think China and the eastern Asian areas are mentioned, and definitely not America, or the American continents for that matter.
Liberalism is not a new idea however. But it is a new name. More people are embracing it. Tolerance for “all” , but not for those who say liberalism is wrong. Is how I would sum up liberalism in one sentence. Same idea many tyrants, dictators, and evil men have had.
I could be completely wrong and most likely am, but liberalism/communism/socialism/progresivism seem to have begun taking a hold on many nations. I guess it just seems like mankind is headed for some major issues, and each global conflict has been worse and worse. Instead of sinfulness (since the world has always been sinful), I think there are just MORE SINFUL. Due to technology, we live longer, can communicate easier, and have all our basic needs provided about 100x easier than 2000 years ago. All the problems caused by sin are therefore communicated instantly around the world, there are more people to cause chaos, and people don’t have to focus on hunting 12 hours a day 365 days a year. We can commit our minds to other things besides survival.

Nobody has anything to focus their mind and body on so they turn to the sinful side of human nature. Which leads to the isms currently destroying our world and way of life. Technology, IMHO is a major factor of humanity’s descent into illogical madness. Why the massive technological advances during the 20th century. Why not earlier? Were we helped along by supernatural forces? As humanity grew more sinful, was it easier to deceive us into building things that would do our work for us? I believe technology is one of the major factors for the way the world is.
The evil people are no longer purged through their own foolishness, there is no accountability anymore. It feels like the world is aimlessly driving of a cliff. There are more people causing problems then there are trying to solve them. Many good men and women have just given up on the world, trying to live peaceful lives, and evil runs rampant.
I’ve always kind of felt that saying is completely misinterpreted. I never used to think about it, but as I get older I think it should only refer to where a person spends their afterlife.
If God hates sin, but sin continues to exist. Then God allowed sin to enter the world. For a reason, which my Grandpa told me hypothetically once when I asked him why God would allow such a thing, that God may have made a perfect civilization made to worship him or he knew that it wouldn’t work. That his servants must love him and worship him for him through their own free will. God isn’t a slave driver.
Bottom line is some people will love God, and some won’t. You can’t understand Gods will. I believe there is much much more to the universe and God’s reasons. But as his servants in Heaven we will certainly learn things that even the most righteous man could not even guess at. God’s perceptions , motives, and even HOW and WHERE God exists must be completely incomprehensible to us and even a glimmer would literally make our heads explode. God is loving, and life is the test. What comes after as God’s servant must be beyond any persons wildest imagination.
THEREFORE THE ONLY THING THAT SHOULD MATTER TO ANYONE, IF THEY BELIEVE OR NOT, IS TO SERVE GOD.
