The Liberian man who became the first Ebola fatality in the U.S. was tearfully lionized Saturday as the disease that killed him infected two new regions of West Africa.
Thomas Duncan, aka Patient Zero, was remembered as a kind and generous soul who reportedly contracted the fatal virus by helping out a needy pregnant woman. She later died of Ebola.
“Eric would have been out there and helped that woman,” said his nephew Josephus Weeks, referring to Duncan by his middle name, after the service inside the Rowan International Church in Salisbury, N.C.
“And he would have done everything that he needed to do for that woman to make sure she was fine.”
Duncan’s mother, Garteh Korkoryah, wept from her first-row seat at the memorial, where Weeks’ 3-year-old son gently dabbed at her tears. About 40 mourners turned out at the small Southern Baptist church.

President Obama, in his weekly address, sought to reassure the jittery nation on Saturday. Ebola scares erupted in an East Orange, N.J., hospital and in Dallas, where a bus and train station closed after a woman vomited. Also in Dallas, patients are avoiding the hospital where Duncan died, ABC News reported.
Obama said a domestic Ebola epidemic will not occur if our response remains guided by common sense instead of fear.
“I am absolutely confident that we can prevent a serious outbreak here in the United States, and we can continue to lead the world in this urgent effort,” the President said.

but, yet he was one of the “outspoken senators” who insisted on a travel ban back when the avian flu was all the scare when Bush was president.

Our fearless leader will not ban travel from the infected countries because he wants Whitey to get sick, making it “fair.”

A travel ban makes more sense than anything else. The democrats are against it because it would affect certain people’s incomes, no other reason.
“Hey Obama, be a MAN - Implement a travel BAN!”
Diamond Jim Obama doesn’t have a problem paying $500,000.00 in ER/ICU costs for every worthless Ebola-raddled African who manages to make it to the USA.
Of course they had no idea they were sick .......
And if the Congress were to complain about his obsessive-compulsive spending problem, he would close the White House, the Supreme Court and the Capitol building, all the national monuments & forests, etc.
