Dear Brother Anderson,
The Democrat Party has been a bunch of secular humanists for quite some time. This isn’t Harry Truman’s Democrat Party, although I’ll admit that Truman’s economic policies were really bad.
I disagree with your evaluation of Obama however.
First of all, he’s dedicated his whole life to running for office. There has to be a microchip dislodged in anyone’s brain to decide to do that. Also, there’s no evidence that we have from his professional body of work that Obama has nothing but average intelligence.
Quite the contrary actually.
Uniquely in American history, Obama was given the opportunity to help heal centuries of racial division as the first black president.
An opportunity like that, to really change something that has plagued our country for hundreds of years, may not come again. There isn’t much in our country that’s hundreds of years old, but racial division is one area where we “enjoy” some antiquity. And helping heal some of that was the fundamental change that all Americans could have supported. It’s what history really set Obama up for.
“Fellow-citizens, we cannot escape history,” wrote Abraham Lincoln prior to signing the Emancipation Proclamation. “We of this Congress and this administration, will be remembered in spite of ourselves. No personal significance, or insignificance, can spare one or another of us. The fiery trial through which we pass, will light us down, in honor or dishonor, to the latest generation.”
Lincoln saw his place in history and took advantage of what history had denied others.
Obama squandered his opportunity. He chose poorly.
And why?
Because Obama is enthralled by the most outdated and discredited economic theories- ever. And because he couldn’t openly argue for them, he tried to impose them by fiat on the rest of us.
There has never been a time in history when socialism has been more discredited than it is today. If the economic history of the last twenty-five years has shown us anything, it’s that confiscating wealth to try to build a utopian dream is not just foolhardly, but the first step in a path of destruction that will kill young and old alike. The Soviet Union, the Eastern Block, Spain, Greece, North Korea, Cuba and China all argue against the very socialist economic policies that Obama covets.
And that’s what he picked versus being the greatest racial uniter since Abraham Lincoln.
Even if it was explained to him, he wouldn’t understand how badly he blew his opportunity. But more than his opportunity, he blew ours.
Of course he’s an idiot.

I hope you are right. And I’m glad you guys are finally beginning to see that you are badly outnumbered by the GOP.
But if we want to match political corruption, party versus party, I’m not going to argue that either side is pristine.
But I will say this: Here’s another demonstration of why liberals are unfit to govern.
You actually believe that your political philosophy makes you more morally fit to govern. And so when you get power, you transfer more and more power to yourselves, because of course you are much more morally fit by virtue of your superior political philosophy. The Democrats today represent more political snobbery and elitist distaste for common sense than any party in our history, including our days as colonies.
As conservative I understand that any person- right, left doesn’t matter- is corrupted by political power in proportion to the amount of political power they hold.
That is one of many reasons why limited government is the only political philosophy for those who care about freedom and security.

I don’t know what Jobs was like personally. I know many powerful, successful people who are crass, impatient, bullying and arrogant. So what? So he should pay higher taxes because you don’t like his management style?

There are only 2 choices regarding Obama. He is either the dumbest President ever(yes, even dumber thaqn Jimmy Carter!)or else he is a radical with Muslim heritage that is bent on destroying the historical America. He was elected by a coalition of bitter minorities, single women who want taxpayed funded birth control, atheists, liberals, and 60’s radicals bent on the destruction of America. People need to see that Obama’s hatred of traditional America is succeeding beyond his wildest dreams. Ebola is just another chance to infect the remnants of free enterprise America with a disease that will truly bring “global equality.”
He is bent on destroying traditional America, he says so himself for all who pay attention and that is why I say incompetence is not the real problem. On the other hand I am certain he would be incompetent at anything he might do that has a positive purpose. Any idiot can destroy, it takes someone with a brain to build something useful, even a tiny toolshed. Obama is merely a very useful puppet for those who want to destroy America as completely as a bulldozer driving straight over a toolshed.
I think you have summed it up very well, however, I believe he can be stupid and a radical Muslim, no need to exclude one or the other. He also hates whites because his mother dumped him.
It is really easy. Obama has had only one intention as president, and that is to turn America into a marxist paradise.
We keep hoping that somehow he will wake up and start acting like a president, but that will never happen.
Does he seem detached, preoccupied? He is not thinking about how to make things better for us, he works with his mini think tank figuring out how to undermine Americans.

Obama is hate. He preys on America with hate. Those that vote for his kind hate. It is their only asset.
I'm getting better at not hating someone who appears to have done their best to deserve it. It helps me to remember that God loves that person, that soul, as much as He loves me.
But, given the historical opportunity to actually lead our nation's healing and to repair the original crack in our Liberty Bell, the true "reason from the heart" that people voted for him, he is vastly more contemptible for his time in office than Clinton was. Or Nixon, or Carter, or either Bush.
I wish voters would have used their heads along with their hearts to choose the "first black President", but what's done is done until it's undone.
Our national wisdom will rise to the next level should we finally decide to look with a critical eye at Barry Oh's paperwork, history and the convoluted path that lifted him to a place of power he should never, ever be.

Competence/Incompetence is in the eye of the beholder.
He has told US what he was going to do, but few seem to have heard what they were listening to.
Fine, then look at the results of his efforts. What has he not damaged? What has punch bowl has he not peed in? Is there a pool where he's not left a floater?
Those were not my goals, so I'd be tempted to call him incompetent.
But, like many here, I heard him clearly and knew what he was about and what he would do if given the chance.
He was given that chance, twice, and he has done a masterful job accomplishing what he told US he would do if given the opportunity.
He's shown he's quite competent at achieving the goals he's set for himself and I want to despise him for it, along those who gave him power over US, but for the moment I'm at peace with things beyond my control.
Yes, but he is the representative of millions of Americans who are bent (literally) on destroying the country. Blame Obama, but also blame the people who elected him. Forty years ago or so an equally leftist president, George McGovern, got trounced by Nixon despite an unpopular war still being wage. Even many Dems then weren't as leftist as they are now. Times change. Now many average Dems think socialism is the way to go. I'd like to give them that chance ....in their own country.

George McGovern was never president, he ran against Nixon when Nixon ran for a second term.
I do blame the voters, I agree with the idea that while it might be possible to survive Obama’s presidency it is NOT possible to survive with an electorate stupid enough to elect him.
