Obama’s New Ebola ‘Czar’ Does Not Have Medical, Health Care Background

President Barack Obama on Friday turned to a trusted adviser to lead the nation’s Ebola response as efforts to clamp down on any possible route of infection from three Texas cases expanded, reaching a cruise ship at sea and multiple airline flights.

Facing renewed criticism of his handling of the Ebola risk, Obama will make Ron Klain, a former chief of staff to Vice President Joe Biden, his point man on fighting Ebola at home and in West Africa. Klain will report to national security adviser Susan Rice and to homeland security adviser Lisa Monaco, the White House said.

Klain does not have a medical or a health care background.

Rep. Andy Harris, R-Md., slammed the decision on Twitter.

“Worst ebola epidemic in world history and Pres. Obama puts a government bureaucrat with no healthcare experience in charge. Is he serious?” Harris tweeted.

Good God...was Johnny Cochrane unavailable?

He helped give us Solyndra.

ahh...THAT explains it! They are going to build another multi-billion dollar boondoggle to funnel cash to Democrat hacks, all in the name of fighting ebola.

Ebama just wanted to keep the tradition going of appointing unqualified people.

You don’t need a health expert for the Ebola Czar job, you need a political hack to spin what Obama wants you to believe. That’s how a community organizer demonstrates leadership.

Has the P0S0TUS ever appointed a truly qualified individual to a cabinet position that didn't require a lawyer-type to fill? You wouldn't appoint a barber to head up maintenance on AF1, for example.
Every one of his picks seem to have come from a Rolodex full of political acquaintances rather than a list of people that common-sense would tell you is right for that particular position.

Did you read about the assistant secretary of Health and human Services, who is really in charge of health disasters.

The woman was involved in redirecting funds from the company who was working on the Ebola drug that is currently being used. But when reading a bio on the woman, I came across something more personally troublesome, she was in charge of health issues for Alcoa. Locally, ALCOA was found guilty of polluting a large area of the county where I live, with Cyanide, fluoride and PCBs. It took over twenty years to clean up the mess and cost more Than $27 million dollars, not including legal costs. That is what this woman did, not manage the disaster clean up, but manage the PR battle.

IMHO the best possible background for the “Ebola Czar” post would be a recently retired military doctor with recent field experience in wither Afghanistan or Iraq.

My ideal candidate would be either a senior Colonel or Brigadier General. High enough up to have experience working within a bureaucracy but low enough to realize where the real work is accomplished (in the ER/OR).
