A resident of Belton, Texas sat within three feet of Amber Vinson, the Dallas nurse who is the third confirmed Ebola case in the United States, when she was flying from Ohio to Texas this week.

The family of the person will now enter quarantine for 21 days, or the incubation period for the virus, to ensure that they didn’t contract the deadly disease from Vinson.

Vinson was originally reported as not showing any symptoms on the flight but a CDC official later said that she was showing symptoms prior to the flight.

Ebola spreads mostly through direct contact with blood or bodily fluids such as sweat, semen, and saliva. There are competing claims as to whether it can spread through the air at short distances....

That nurse should never nurse again and be charged with terrorism and sent to prison. She knew and flew anyway. That’s criminal behavior.

She self-reported to the CDC.

The CDC said to fly anyway.

Now, who is criminal?

The one who should be in prison is Dr. Nancy Snyderman because she agreed to a voluntary 21 day quarantine and she broke it to buy herself some soup from a restaurant! She knew, even more than this nurse did, that what she did could have infected people.

At least Obola is taking this serious NOW.

You don’t sound like a scaredy-cat at all.

Aside from all of the existing b.s...now you have to worry about the possibility of being quarantined for nearly a month. And hope you aren’t sick, to boot.

“two students and their parents were on the flight, including the parent in question. The students attend North Belton Middle School and Sparta Elementary. Belton Early Childhood School was also closed because some of its pre-kindergarten students transfer through Sparta at the beginning and end of the school day”

We’re talking little children who are affected.

Okay...so the Belton family is quarantined, but Africans arriving from countries where Ebola is rampant are merely “tracked” while stateside. WTF? When did the world turn upside down? Don’t answer the rhetorical - I know it was Jan of 2009.

It’s obviously the plane’s fault. If they had been on a bus, everyone would be OK.

Either Vinson didn’t’ say she’d been nursing an ebola patient or the CDC was too stupid to think it was important.

We can say the CDC was criminal in this but where was her common sense? Geez...she worked on the Ebola patient, she knew she was to “self-monitor” and she felt like she had to call and ask permission?

I live in Dallas. It’s getting weird here and we can blame our government for it’s inability to keep us safe but we can blame this woman for GETTING ON A PLANE when she KNEW she was sick.

Citizens get quarantined.

Africans arriving from Liberia *allegedly* get tracked. Yet another lie from our government.

I don’t live in Dallas...but I do work there.

I agree with you. Every day brings a new “you’re kidding me aren’t you?” moment.

I really have my doubts the Nurse was honest and said, Oh and by the way, I treated directly the guy who died from Ebola at the hospital. I just don’t think someone at CDC would say, yeah, ok, you’re are good to fly on a plane.

What proof do we have of that conversation. Her word against theirs? Was it recorded?
