AUSTIN, Texas -- Houston Mayor Annise Parker has backed down from the subpoenas the City of Houston issued to several area pastors, Breitbart Texas has learned.
Breitbart Texas reported earlier about the controversy, stemming from litigation challenging the city's anti-discrimination ordinance and subpoenas asking the pastors for the content of their sermons, speeches and communications with church members. Texas Senator Ted Cruz weighed in, firmly supporting the pastors in their efforts to fight the subpoenas, while Mayor Parker initially remained adamant that the city had the right to request those records. Despite posting comments on Twitter just hours before that seemed to indicate she would continue to fight this issue, she told a Houston radio station that she has changed her mind.

And what do the mean the original subpoenas are “too broad”? What is the original problem here they are trying to solve? Nothing else for them to do in Houston?

Unless they organize a recall on this mayor right now, there will be no lesson learned. If Kalifornians can recall a governor, Houston can run their leftist mayor outta town.
She must be impeached. She absolutely must leave office soon.
Having taught in the public school, I know you are VERY correct. If only we could get people to wake up to what his happening. FAR harsher action must be taken to save this nation. Absolutely no compromise. They know what they have to do to us, we just don't realize what we have to do to them.

An apology for violating Americans’ civil rights is not sufficient. This woman must resign.
Hopefully this will wake up Christians in Houston long enough to get to the polls for the next mayoral election. Sheeesh!

The people within the city of Houston deserve what they voted for....tyranny in gubbamint.
She thought she could bully them into compliance.
She got her point across. This was a warning shot.
He didn't think we would have evil bitches when he made that statement.

They are tolerant. Of evil. Of anti-Western culture and ideology. Anything anti-Christian. Anything, everything and anybody anti free enterprise. Etc.
At the very least the city attorney needs to resign. Any attorney who would go through with a subpoena such as this is completely ignorant of the freedoms of speech and religion.
Mayor Porker has stated that when she leaves the office of mayor she will “go national” afterwards.
Not sure what she means to do but I’ll be watching.
