Dallas Official: Ebola Hospital Never Warned About Travel (Judge Clay Jenkins)
NBC News ^ | 10/15/14 | NBC News

Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins criticized the CDC hours after it was revealed that a second nurse who came into contact with Ebola patient Thomas Eric Duncan at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital has tested positive for the deadly disease, and that the new patient flew on a commercial flight to Ohio before she was diagnosed.

Jenkins, the chief executive in Dallas County, said he is seeking an order to bar 75 hospital workers who may have come into contact with Duncan, who died of the disease last Wednesday, from taking mass transit. Early Wednesday nurse Amber Joy Vinson tested positive for Ebola, becoming the second nurse who treated Duncan to be diagnosed with the disease that has killed more than 4,000 people in the West African countries of Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea.

“I’m not happy about the lack of direction on travel restrictions. If restrictions aren’t put in place immediately we’ll put them in place on a local level,” Jenkins told NBC News.

Is there any chance to defeat Jenkins at the polls next month?

We haven’t heard a peep about the fiancé and those kids living at that McMansion. There’s no way in hell she won’t get it. Jenkins is in deep.

Anyone know how Jenkins became such an ongoing star player in the ebola story in Dallas? Doesn’t seem like a typical role for a county judge.

I don’t know where he stands in the polls. I haven’t seen any polls.

Liberal slimeball Jenkins is obviously getting ahead of the political curve with this, because he sees which way the wind is really blowing. Right in Obama's face.

If any of you live in Dallas County PLEASE vote this guy out of office. He is a complete disgrace.

I live in Dallas County, and vote against Democrats in every election.

"County Judge" in Texas is an administrative title. He heads the county gubmint bureaucracy. It's why he's front and center in this mess.

He really can’t be serious about restricting exposed hospital workers from taking mass transit - we were just told last week that restricting travel only makes things worse ...

Thnaks, so that's something very different from circuit judges and county judges in some other states.

Jenkins is an scared idiot that is backpedaling.

Fixed it. Bet life with the wife isn't too pleasant these days. She should have already tossed his clothes on the front lawn for all the neighbors to see. And burned that suit he was wearing to transport Louise et al.

Backpedaling?

More backflips than an Olympic floor exercise.

I thought you couldn’t get it by sitting next to someone with ebola on a bus. Now you can?

Good catch.

I am sure that Jenkins thought that he would be a shoe-in for re-election when he was filmed escorting the ebola family, past all the bio waste, to their new quarters.

Kids at his kid's school are avoiding his kids like the plague.

He is in way over his head

Hopefully Dallas voters will send him packing. I didn’t realize this doofus was up for re-election.

I just saw a snippet on Megyn with Frieden getting agitated and saying hotly

‘Those Texas People’

This is worrisome. It sounded like we Texans are a bother, a drain on resources, whiny-babies, that there’s other ‘people’ that are a bigger problem than we are.

I’m guessing Minnesota. They have a 25K Liberian population compared to DFW’s 10K.

Friedan is accidentally telling the truth.
