A second Dallas-based nurse who was recently diagnosed with Ebola after treating a man who later died of the virus has arrived in Atlanta for treatment.

Helicopter footage from local television stations showed 29-year-old Amber Joy Vinson leaving a jet and being helped into an ambulance Wednesday night. A police motorcade escorted the ambulance as it traveled to Emory University Hospital, which has already treated three Americans diagnosed with the virus.

“She is black so she gets special treatment?”

Anything else would be racist.

One would have thought that it was part of the protocols that once someone was put on notice that they were being monitored for Ebola he/she would not be permitted to go traveling around the country, especially on a closed-cabin carrier like an airliner - if this is not part of the standards it should be - enforceable with a good stiff monetary at least if violated.....

It’s being reported that she called the c d c and told them she had a low grade fever and they told her it was ok to fly.

"The hospital in Atlanta is currently treating a patient who arrived there Sept. 9. The patient, who has not been publicly identified, released a statement Wednesday afternoon. “Given the national focus on Ebola, particularly with the diagnosis in two health care workers, I want to share the news that I am recovering from this disease, and that I anticipate being discharged very soon, free from the Ebola virus and able to return safely to my family and to my community,” the patient said.

Look, they were treating another ebola patient and no one knew.

Actually, word is that the Texas Hospital is on the verge of a revolt amongst healthcare workers. No way they could handle another Ebola patient.

This is something I am not surprised by...nor do I really blame them.

I know someone in Atlanta when this flight came in at Ptree Decalb airport. They said there must’ve been 50 or 60 patrol cars blocking intersections and exit ramps. He said it was the most cops he’s ever seen in one place. I wonder why they felt the need for so many policemen?

Because it's not that contagious, No Worries. Obama was coming down shortly to kiss and hug the patient - that's probably why they needed police on hand.

I would sure like to know. And how many others who tested positive are calling in their HPPA rights and remaining anonymous, do ya think?

I got caught up in a bit of this - major traffic jam. Chances are they put out a message that all available off-duties would get overtime to show up...I'm surprised there wasn't more. Nothing excites an Atlanta cop more than causing a traffic jam.

It hadn’t occurred to me that this may be why she was sent to Atlanta but it seems plausible - and I don’t blame them either.

I could see a situation where nurses walk and Obama nationalized hospitals and nurses - in other words MAKE them work.
