Sounds like a text book study on how to spread a contagious virus. Sort of like holding a WWI victory celebration in NYC right as the 1918 pandemic began.

This is what happens when agencies (the CDC) hire staff for reasons other than qualifications. I see it all the time with the clerks at my insurance company (CIGNA), it’s no wonder that costs are so high, when people spend so much time processing paperwork, on the phone, dealing with the customers, playing fax tag and phone tag with the doctor office. It has taken me up to two months to get a single prescription filled through CIGNA home health for a maintenance medication, because they put so many obstacles in the way. And somebody is paying the cost of the countless hours spent processing all that paperwork by all those minimum wage clerks.

So far the false positive rate is 100%.
At some point we may well have a high mortality pandemic, and likely as not the “Bring Out Your Dead” threads will miss the beginning entirely.

Libsrjerks, FNP here, joining the other nurses here in the view that this RN certainly should have had the sense not to get on the plane, irregardless of whatever advice the CDC had to give ..... She had direct exposure to an ebola infected patient, her own colleague was ill .... I mean, come ON.
Our problem is we rely too much on the go-ahead for these ridiculous government institutions and don’t use common sense! She wanted to go see relatives and she didn’t give a hoot ..... That’s what happened. She’s a selfish idiot who has now put hundreds at risk. NO sympathy from me.

CDC appaerntly OK’d it because her temp wasn’t a full degree Centigrade above normal (where it would qualify as a fever, IIRC).
