For years, I held out hope that Oathkeepers would step in. Now I believe the organization is a wonderful myth to keep us in a fool’s paradise. If they do exist, they’ve waited too long.

You are correct.
It is easy for wannabe ‘patriots’ to say all sorts of things on blogs about how they will react in a crisis. But when the excrement hits the fan and the rubber meets the road all of that blather vanishes.
