I Am Ashamed to Be a Vegetarian

I’m a vegetarian. I haven’t eaten meat in 20 years.

Up until this morning I was OK with my dietary choice.

But then I saw this video just uploaded by “Direct Action Everywhere,” a radical vegetarian activist gang, and now I am ashamed. Ashamed to be associated with them. Ashamed that everyone I meet must think I’m some sort of anti-meat revolutionary. Ashamed that mean-spirited lunatics have hijacked my personal food preference and turned it into rallyng cry for passive-aggressive bullying.

Watch and weep, as a contingent of vegetarian fascists burst into a random restaurant in San Francisco and try to pull some kind of creepy mind-game on the bewildered diners:

A Conservative who doesn't like chicken, doesn't eat chicken. A Liberal who doesn't like chicken, works to ensure that no one, anywhere, will ever be able to consume chicken, or even something that tastes like chicken, ever again. And they'll be smug and self-righteous in their cause.

wbill - you have great insight into liberals... you know who they are...

I blame all of this on the lack of civics teaching in schools.

Our government was originally built on the principle of Gd given freedom. We need to forget how we feel about other people’s choices, all of us.*

*the only exception is grievous harm or death caused by other people’s choices

We need more “judgement for ourselves” and less on others because a group of human beings (a country) is by human nature artificial so the chains around us must be light.

Everyone needs to live and raise his family according to his highest sense of right. And leave the rest to theirs.

I’m still wondering why we didn’t see some yeast rolls or yogurt flyin’ her way. At least some mashed taters. FOOD FIGHT!!! Were the patrons too stunned by her sudden appearance?

Missed it. Though it doesn’t surprise me; there’s a few people on that show who need their screws tightened.

Taking on a tough job that other Americans just won’t step up to plate and honestly discuss. That’s just the kind of guy I am.....

No. I would cringe at the continual stupidity of the American media that can’t tell the difference between a deranged individual and a gun that cannot have mental problems. BTW, everyone even slightly to the right of Stalin is considered a Tea Party member these days.

How's that?

This tofu's too crunchy.

What did you say?

Believe it or not, I've actually ate some good Tofu deep fried in little cubes before, and put into a great green salad.
But they tell me that it's very hard to "get it right" and not over cook it,
and that it's the last thing to be cooked and has to go straight to the customer, and eaten quickly,
because it gets cold quickly and the contrast between the cold salad and the hot fried tofu is what makes it great.

Tofu’s okay. It’s not something I get excited about, except for its being healthy. I do like Burger King’s veggieburgers though.

My uncle—some years ago—upon receiving a steak that was way too rare, said to the waitress: “Take this back. I’ve seen a cow hurt worse than this get well.”

Wipe his butt, wash him off, sizzle bot sides until it's hot all the way through,
and bring that beefsteak to me, with a touch of ketchup on the side and a little Kraft Horsey Sauce.
