On Monday Iraqi military sources confirmed the fall of the military base of Hit, which includes a training camp and the base of the seventh division of the Iraqi army, after a major attack of the organization ISIS, using suicide car bombs and rocket-propelled grenades.

The military sources said that “the organization ISIS attacked the army base in Hit, the third largest military bases in western Iraq, from several axes, and carried out a series of suicide attacks on the walls of the base by car bombs, as well as a missile attack lasted about an hour which led to the storming of the base after the withdrawal of the army from it. “

In a related context, lieutenant colonel, Rahim Aljughaifi said that “ISIS have seized the contents of the base and the training camp, including tanks, heavy weapons, munitions and stores, as well as spare parts and different military supplies,” adding that “the army had requested help of the international coalition during the attack on the base, but the latter did not respond’, asserting the control of ISIS on the three towns surrounding the base.”

Obama did the bombings as political cover for the November elections. They knew that wouldn’t stop ISIS (note he refers to them as ISIL as he doesn’t believe Israel is a legitimate nation).

Obama’s troops are making significant gains in Iraq, he must have inspired them to redouble their efforts with his stirring personal appearances and celebrity endorsements.

“the army had requested help of the international coalition during the attack on the base, but the latter did not respond’

I agree with your comment.

But there is more to it than that.

“which led to the storming of the base after the withdrawal of the army from it. “”

Why is it smart to send our guys in there to fight, many to be killed or wounded, for a sorry bunch of cowards who throw down their weapons, take off their uniforms and run?

The Kurds don’t run.

Look what the Viet Cong did to us even though they were hopelessly out gunned.

So we go in there and lose a few thousand men, leave and then they will run from the next threat and we will have to do it all over.

If they will not fight, they deserve what they get.

We should support the Kurds every way we can and kiss off the Iraqs.

I guess it would be too much to ask the Iraqi army to use the tanks to fight ISIS. Instead, they appear to use them to cover their retreat.

Much as I dislike ISIS and everything that is happening, I wouldn’t waste another $ on the cowardly morons.

Car bombs and RPGs took out tanks? Or the base commanders were all ISIS sympathizers to begin with and simply surrendered the facility without a struggle?

As long as Turkey is a member of NATO, the kurds are going to be a political football.

Apparently the Shia can’t or won’t fight. Which kind of explains why Sadaam’s Sunnis were able to control Iraq, despite being in the minority. In short, by insisting the Iraqi Government be Shia dominated, we backed the wrong horse.

“the army had requested help of the international coalition during the attack on the base, but the latter did not respond’

The phone was ringing at the White House at 3 am.

Or maybe it was 3 pm, and the alleged president was out on the links.

Not only cowardly.

They are stupid beyond belief because they will be beheaded or executed in some other way when they are caught.

That old saw, dead men walking. Only in their case it is dead men running.

You are absolutely correct.

But what if we gave the Kurds Iraq and any and all of the weapons they need and tell the Turks to go to hell?

That they are in NATO makes NATO a joke.
