A Republican running in a hotly contested race for an open congressional seat now says that Obamacare is here to stay.

David Young, who is running for Iowa's third congressional seat, said at a healthcare forum Monday that the Affordable Care Act “is going to be here to stay,” according to the Des Moines Register.

“The president is not going to allow his keystone legislation to go by the wayside. So we're going to have to work to make it better,” he said.

That is a marked change from Young’s previous statements on the law. At a training event for activists in August, he said, “We get a Republican majority, let’s defund, cut, delay, whatever it takes to get rid of Obamacare.”

...Young supports increasing the gas tax. Furthermore, he advocated adding a new tax on vehicles powered by natural gas. Young also supports a pathway to citizenship for the eleven million or so illegal immigrants who are currently in America. Young also supports means testing for Social Security, and raising the minimum wage to $10.10...

Wow!

Selling out.......before the votes are cast. What a novel idea.

I usually like my RINO’s to disappoint me after I waste my vote.

That makes as much sense as someone in 1855 saying “slavery is here to stay.”

So the while the dems are running away from obamneycare, the chamber of commies prostitutes are embracing it.

You know, we can afford to lose a few RINO seats in the House, and here's someone who is begging to lose.

Right. I remember seeing those old films of politicians in the 30s saying Prohibition was “here to stay.”

Point #1: Young is right--until Republicans can get a veto proof majority, Hussein will never sign a bill denuding his Death Panel Law.

Point #2: Young is wrong to say what he said--he ought to be pointing out the need to not just elect HIM, but many other conservatives so we can achieve the goal of denuding the Death Panels.

Point #3: I think Young might have just lost the election by spouting something like this.

Of course if the House simply witheld the funds as is their obligation to their constituents, there would be no issue. Instead, they funded it fully as Obama demanded.

Go elect more of this moron folks. No matter what. Then sit silently because you brought this on America.

No, I believe he is correct. Getting rid of it at this point is not possible. Like it or not, Ocare is here to stay. It will only "evolve" only time. If it is abandoned or changed significantly, it will be to single payer. That was the original goal. It's not going away, nor will we see the insurance industry anything close to what it was before Ocare. At this point, it's not possible to do away with Ocare and return to what we had before. The implications and unintended consequences of doing so would do even more damage.

As much as I want this to happen, I want you to take a moment and list the consequences. What WOULD happen if Ocare were simply defunded?
