Gee, maybe it’s because nobody has a frickin’ clue because the leadership of these organizations are all political appointees.

“so just like in west Africa the medical people are going to die first. And then it’s on to everyone else. “

That is NOT the way it happened in Africa. They traced out patient zero in Africa and the initial spread. Stupid funeral practices spread it. But the real problem was it was spreading for months before it was identified as Ebola.

The exponentiation began in WA once it hit the hospitals in urban areas. AFter that it was game on.

The article I read this morning, said they were changing their approach but standing by the existing protocols.

I’m guessing that means better training.
I think they need to look carefully at the protocols. Too many health professionals have gotten sick. I’m not buying it’s a training issue.

The Germans and Italians learned that lesson the hard way during WWII, at its end and afterwards.

We never will.

I always call my local office or stop by. Has a dramatic impact with the staffers.

It seems a nurse getting it has shaken them. Sort of like how journalists didn't really care about muslim terrorism in the middle east until they suddenly began kidnapping and beheading journalists. Then it was a big deal.

Likewise they told us "don't worry, we can contain it. It's more important to not harm the economy of africa by closing our borders" presumably accepting that a few cases would get through but they'd snuff it out before it spread. Then one of theirs got it. Oops. Whoa. Maybe this plan isn't so smart after all.
