Over the past few years, General Mills has positioned itself as something like the anti-Chick-fil-A, celebrating LGBT pride and vehemently opposing Minnesota’s proposed gay marriage ban. All of that is very nice—but come on, this is 2014. If you’re a food company and you haven’t made an adorable ad featuring a gay couple with their children, you’re just another face in the pro-gay corporate crowd.
Luckily, General Mills has now decided to get with the program, releasing a commercial with a gay couple, their adopted daughter, and a bowl of Cheerios. And the ad is just as impossibly cute as you might expect.

Sometimes, but not always. Example: If I put a bowl of Grapenuts and Kroger brand Nutty Nuggets (hey, I didn't name it!), I'll bet 95% of the people could not taste the difference.
It’s hard to believe that so many of these cereal companies got their start in the 1800s as religious organizations.

I think thats true of some brands, some food products, but not of others. The store brands seem to be inferior in taste and quality compared to the major brands.
For example I like chef boyardee canned spaghetti. Not too long ago I decided to buy the cheaper store brand canned spaghetti instead in order to save some money. It turned out to be horrible in comparison to chef boyardee. And there seemed to be a little more sauce and less spaghetti too.
It’s like showing cannibals in Tuxedos eating at a properly prepared dinner table.
Hmmm, so they’re appealing to 5% of the market. I had no idea only homos ate Cheerios. Silly me.
No kidding, what they hell does these two hooking up have to do with cereal?
I just emailed General Mills, telling them that there are plenty of other cereal manufacturers who do not feel the need to thrust the abnormal and perverted lifestyle of homosexuals into my face via commercials. And that THEY will be getting my future business. Just another reason I’m glad I don’t own a TV.

Another interesting aspect to TV, for some reason you never see any blacks on reality TV shows like Gold Rush, Bering Sea Gold, How It’s Made, Food Factory, Modern Marvels and How Do They Do It.
Considering how hard it is for white people to adopt black children in the USA I find this commercial to be way out of the realm of reality.
I happen to know a gay couple that has two adopted children. These guys happened to be very economically conservative and adopted a special needs child- then adopted the sibling to keep the family together. As we know since all the rage is to abort unhealthy babies one can imagine the demand to adopt special needs children. But on the other hand two men raising an adolescent girl has challenges.
I have read articles by children raised by Gay and Lesbian couples- all love and appreciate them, but being raised in this types of households creates many challenges. At least these children have a chance where none existed. (Let the flaming begin)
Hey, gays need kids too, to care for them when they are dying, early, from contracted diseases, related to their lifestyle.

People said the same thing about slavery, then segregation; the population of “tolerant” people is dwindling, and what replaces them won’t look as kindly on freaks playing family and buying children.
Good point; hadn’t thought of that. In my area, blacks have been almost completely replaced in the workforce by Hispanics. Those remaining see what is going on, and resent it.
Note: Couple is white, kid is black.
The kid is adorable, the assemblage (I won’t say “family”) is not.

I have avoided General Mills products since the company went public promoting this crap.
Really hasn’t been too tough to do.
Same with Target, another Minnesota company.
I can usually taste a difference between name brands and no-frills stuff; you get what you pay for. Some things are easier to substitute than others.
I’m surprised anyone can sell a more-expensive name brand product if they are so similar.
I have Cheerios on my shelf right now. They will not be replaced with a General Mills cereal when they are gone - never again.
Does this mean these perverts are making the food? Let everyone be warned.
