There is no culture that cannot be changed.
The enduring Egyptian culture: Gone.
Japanese Imperial culture: Gone.
Roman culture: Gone.
Aztecs, Mayans, Druids, National Socialists, Soviets: All Gone.
We just need to stop treating them as an acceptable alternative to the human condition.
They might be gone but nobody bombed them away.
They evolved into something else over long long long spans of time.
The USA is not going to be changing the culture in the middle east, not now, not ever.
If and when it does change it will take a long long long time
In the case of Imperial Japan and National Socialism, they were bombed away in less than 4 years time. In the case of the Aztecs, they were conquistadored out of existence almost overnight.
Cultures can be changed almost overnight. But you first have to brake them.
Germany and Japan were small area wise and population wise.
Islam is 1.6 Billion people spread over vast area of the planet (and multiplying much faster than people of Western culture). We can’t change the culture of that many people over such a vast area. Also, their culture has a very long history.
I’m not saying we have to like it. Much of it is repulsive to us. But on some level we have to accept that it is what it is and stop trying to defend people from their own culture. The best we can do is to stop their culture from infecting ours (just as they complain about the culture of the West infecting theirs).
